Good points raised by mjbethancourt,Dnr like most digital tools can have positive effects, and like he said most consumers prefer a small ammount of Dnr,this is because a lot of consumers see film grain as a bad picture.
And lets be honest here Dnr is used in post production as well,so it's not always a Blu-ray transfers fault. |

"nearly 100 hours cleaning and doing color corrections"???
that's nothing....2 guys doing a week's work..at most. i worked more hours digitally cleaning low budget Canadian films (like "Ginger Snaps" for example) at Technicolor in Toronto. 100 hours on LOTR is disgraceful...this is clearly a half-assed product and a greedy move. |

TrenchRun,regarding the 100 hours cleaning and restoring,it seems your main gripe with this is it took them a week, what if they took a little longer, you know say they spread the 100 hours over say like three weeks !!!

Only Joking TrenchRun,but with the three movies having heavy postproduction done on them to achive their fairytale look, it's a miracle they could find a 100 hours work to do,i think someone has been making up their own timesheets at Warner.
And to be fair if Warner were making this up to counter poor reviews and forum unease, you would think they would come up with a longer time than a 100 hours. Last edited by jonmoz; 04-08-2010 at 10:39 PM. |

Considering the HDTV vs blu ray shots, I would say definitely not, but that is up for debate as well. Last edited by Todd Smith; 04-08-2010 at 11:52 PM. |
