Having not seen the EE's yet (I know....) that explains why I haven't seen them. Thanks again!

Believe it or not, it has been a conscious choice on my part. I decided I wanted to see the EE's for the first time on blu a long time ago. I have held out this far, and perhaps I only have 2 more years to go. Then I get to watch them on blu for the first time, now that will be impressive!

They're really good, and the special features are superb; the TE's will hold me for awhile, and I for one am thankful that WB released them. But the EE's will be the icing on the cake!

My take on the EEs:

Fellowship - it is slightly better than the theatrical 4.5 vs 4.75

Two Towers - It is a good bit better than the theatrical 4.5 vs 5.0

King - It isn't as good as the theatrical, but the added stuff is mostly good. 5.0 vs 5.0

Thanks Diesel....I just have to find time now to watch the TE's on blu. It is proving to be difficult in my home to find any free time, as I must watch these with the projector and audio as loud as I want it.

I've got the Box set in my hands, I'll probably watch it tonight if I don't get any other plans, as this is a 3 hour movie it has to be planned lol.

I've been skeptic of some people (with all due respect) almost praising the PQ of Fellowship and I look forward to my own reaction on the matter, I know what to expect, a inconsistent presentation, the question is to what degree? and my anal and picky standards will be put to the test

For the first time in a while, I think my inability to see the finer details of the PQ may just come in handy for FOTR.....

im kinda pissed because the regular box set has way more detail than this cheap ass Best Buy Steelbook, but i cant complain because i got it for free but still. I think the Canadian one is way better. It looks dirty and rough.

Yes, but can you imagine a female living with her dad for 2777 years? How old would that get?

Elrond:
"How late are you going to be out tonight?"

Arwen:
"Come on dad, I've been an adult for 2750 years".

Elrond:
"Well maybe you should start acting like it".

Arwen:
"Would you tell those as****es to stop singing about Elbereth and Gilthoniel? If I've heard that song once, I've heard it 100,000 times. Can't they write something new?"

Elrond:
"That time of the month, dear?"

Arwen:
"Yeah, well how would you like to go through 25,000,000 of those in a lifetime?"

I would imagine though when you're immortal you don't really notice or keep track of the passage of time as much as mortals do.

I just finished watching FOTR blu-ray.I have a 42" 1080p plasma & 7.1 lossless audio setup,& to me it looked much much better than I expected.Way better than a dvd upconvert. It's not as razor sharp as irobot & the like, but it's better than alot of blu-rays I own.I think some shots (like the shire)are deliberately mildly soft to make it otherworldly and inviting like a warm fuzzy blanket.Don't get me wrong,it could be alot better, but it IS much better than I expected. Also, the audio was off by just a little, but my amp has an adjustable delay, it was easily fixed.
