Also, did peter jackson oversee the transfers for the movies? WB took over new line and their tranfers are not good at all. i worry that these movies are going to have the usual WB problems. |

i am still pissed WB oversees New Line's transfers now. shoot em up is still one of the best looking WB titles (if not the best) in my library. awesome flick. great presentation.
i hope they do not screw over this release... |

The Hobbit was a beautifully written, incredibly imaginative childrens book, with wonderful adult humour combined, and I truly love it, but it has none of the epic scope of the totally "adult" concept LOTR books. I am also fascinated how they reduced the huge LOTR books to 3 films but will EXPAND the relatively small The Hobbit book to 2 films! |

Actually, Jackson said he stands behind the theatrical as well as the Extended. Like James Cameron, he stands behind the product he releases, he doesn't pull the "studio made me do it" card that you hear from other directors. If he signs off on a movie in any length or format, and he delivers that film to be released and it has his name on it, he's going to stand behind it.
