83” is the sweet spot for me for a living room setup, but yeah I think 77” would probably be better for most people. Even then, the considerable higher price of the A90J, only 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs (compared to 4 on the G1), and the capped brightness for accuracy has basically made me decide to wait until next year and see what is available there. The slight bigger size would definitely be nice but the price difference combined with the drawbacks of the A90J is not worth it imo. I’d suggest looking into the 77” G1, I bet after all the tests and reviews are done it will not be much different than the A90J, and then you take into account the price, and well, I bet anyone looking for a 77” OLED model will at least be slightly enticed to look at the 77” G1. Well, it’ll help the display tone map less with bigger objects that are brighter. And given it’s an OLED, it can still dim each pixel to pitch black, so contrast should be unaffected, and contrast actually improved with bigger brighter objects, especially when there’s darker highlights around those objects.

Just have to be patient. If not Sony, or LG OLED ... 2021 NEW models.
Last year's models should be affordable. But you don't need a new TV, you have one already. Unless, you want the newest and best...Sony 83" OLED. |

I certainly respect D-Nice's technical knowledge and detailed reviews, but he comes off as a bit unprofessional to me at times.

Definitely more unprofessional than Vincent, but the best of the best usually are. Vincent is pretty by the books so it wouldn't surprise me if other calibrators are able to come up with more creative settings.
