I just have no idea when the extended editions are going to be released on Blu-ray here in Russia and for what price. I often get UK releases on Amazon cheaper. And besides, this is the kind of movies that have to be watched with original audio anyway.
It will be, its being released by Warner, now the DVD's in the set may not be, but I'm sure the BD's will...

You keep coming up with these "who would win a fight" questions. You remind me of the TV show "Animal Face-Off" that was on Animal Planet.

But I doubt many would try and make that argument, still I would probably given the Witch King the advantage, given how slow Treebeard movies. Not to mention Witch King has a fellbeast he can ride... Treebeard, not so much.
When the Ents attacked Isengard (in the book) one of the Ents went up in flames. I think it would be like the Wicked Witch vs the Scarecrow.

Or "Celebrity Deathmatch" YES!!! Who wouldn't want to see a claymation Witch King go up against a claymation Treebeard?!?! All refereed by Mills Lane? That would be AWESOME!

In the USA it is released by Warner Bros., but in the UK it is Entertainment in Video, and the UK release of the theatrical editions was locked to region B. And Russian releases costed like $35 for each of the three movies. So I passed that one waiting for extended editions. Amazon.com has quite an expensive delivery to Russia, but very fast, as it is UPS. They don't ship via USPS. I think that maybe I will actually end up buying US release after all.
But if there are DVDs included, they most likely will be region locked. In that case I'd better wait for a Russian release, which will be fully compatible with my player. I am not sure if the price won't be too high, but current preorder prices for UK and USA aren't low either. So I think it won't hurt just to wait for now.

oh crap that is my error, I really thought it was Warner Worldwide. I'm sorry bout that man. If it is by a different distributer than your release may not have DVD's, I don't know. The U.S. release will with WB.

Given the penchant for studios to do remakes and grasp at anything with a "vs" in the title, I don't think we can rule out the possibility of a Witch-King vs. Alien, Balrog vs. Godzilla, or the (R-rated) Third Breakfast: Tinkerbell and the Fairies Erotic Adventures in Hobbiton[/I].

Here's one. Who would win a fight, The Witch King, or Darth Vader?

That would be good, although it also sounds like a Robot Chicken parody episode.

Could be a draw or stalemate. Or, given the power behind the Witch-King, namely the Maiar Sauron, and the power behind the Force is a bunch of little mito-whatevers, maybe the Witch-King.

Except that Christopher Tolkien and the Tolkien Estate would pounce on those things in a heartbeat.

Sadly, I have never watched Robot Chicken I've been told I would like it very much with my sense of humor (I think Seth Green is frickin hilarious)... But I do remember Celebrity Deathmatch and that show was awesome...

Treebeard is easy, give me a nice flame thrower and, voila!

Witch King is a bit overrated, one slash in the face by a 5 foot 4, 100 pound girl and he is done, wow!

Treebeard can rend stone like it was butter!

Also, this is my 1,000th post! I just thought this would be the best place to post it, because my user name is frogmort, taken from Frogmorton:
Frogmorton is a village in the Eastfarthing of the Shire, located in the Frogmoors. Frogmorton gets is name from the marshy area surrounding the village, which is inhabited by a large density of frogs and toads.

Just over two months to go!

That's where Frodo and co. were apprehended by the "two-feather" shirriff. Cool map.

You went too cheap. I just sold mine on Half.com for $35. I probably paid >2x that when they first came out though.

lol

Some more questions:

1) Do balrogs have wings? Can they fly?
2) Who is older? Treebeard or Tom Bombadil?
3) Who is more powerful? Gandalf the White or Tom Bombadil?
