Best Buy just told me they will have an exclusive with several figures included similar to what they did with the DVD releases. I can't find anything on it anywhere. Anybody know about this?

Someone else had capped it. I just had the broadcast version to compare the caps to and take note of how much DNR was used in the Fellowship BD. Sometimes I'm able to find copies of a movie a few days early if a store makes a mistake and puts them out a little too soon, but definitely not three weeks + early.

I'm thinking of posting a YouTube video of it later if anyone is interested, but it's pretty cool. Basically you have a gold colored ring with elvish writing on the side with a silver colored necklace. The whole thing is nicely packaged in a box the size of a computer game box. Of note is that you are eligible to get the ring if you get the Best Buy exclusive edition which includes six pewter figurines. |

I picked up the ring today at my Best Buy ($10 pre-order). You can check on the site and see store availability.

I couldn't care less, really. At the end of the day, they're the same special features and it doesn't look like they take up a ton of space as a boxset. So I don't see the big deal. At least Blu-ray players will upconvert DVDs - they don't upconvert SD material on a Blu.

![]() The special features in this package are some of the best ever made, but I've already seen them. It would be rare for me to watch them again, and who cares if watching someone getting their makeup applied, or whatever is just upconverted? I absolutely care about the A/V quality of movies. There are lots of movies that I love, but refuse to buy because of the horrendous transfer, but I really don't care if the behind the scenes stuff is 1080p or 7.1 DTS-MA. Upconverted SD and two channel stereo is fine on this stuff for me. I don't buy blu-rays based on the cover art, the case/packaging, the bonus content, etc. I buy blu-rays for the movie and A/V quality of the movie! Only three weeks to go! ![]() |

I would rather all the extras be on one bluray per film instead of 3 dvds. Will it affect my purchase? No chance. |

But SD bonus material transferred in a Blu Ray can not be upscale to 1080p... whereas if they are presented in a DVD they can.
Anyway, perfect play for Warner: the bonus material disc are already made, the set is bigger (and so the price)... And we can watch (again) the (very same) bonus material in 1080p. |
