HMV (in Canada) has an exclusive with postcards that I pre-ordered today. The postcards are kind of similar to the ones from the Taxi Driver release, except they're double-sided. One side has an iconic character image, and the other has an iconic symbol - whether it be Arwen's pendant or the ring, etc, etc. Is there any way we could get that added to the database as the LOTR EE with HMV Exclusive Postcards? I pre-ordered it instore today so I know it's out there

Hopefully, they'll release the EE in individual packaging as well in a few months without the DVD extras (I already have them and don't want to pay for them again). I just want the EE Blus!

I don't care that the bonus features are not in HD.
I do care that I'm re-buying nine DVDs that I already own.

I would have loved for each film's Appendices/CB Doc to be on a single Blu-ray.

Trade your current DVDs in to amazon for store credit and use that toward the Blus. Just an idea.

For those who used the Borders 50% off code to order this, I used it to pre-order the Superman Anthology that is SUPPOSED to be out today. Up until this morning, the status was "pre-ordered". Today, the day it is SUPPOSED to be available, it is now "backordered". What a crock of s**t. I will NEVER do business again with Borders. I suspect it will happen when LOTR is supposed to come out as well.

Probably, due to the sheer volume of those who pre-ordered it. Also need to factor in that there wasn't a whole lot of time for Borders to get additional copies added to their initial order, based on when the coupon was and the Superman Anthology release date.

LotR could be better, since Borders has a larger window to hopefully add but my guess is it'll be backordered as well, unless you were one of the early ones to place a pre-order for it using the coupon. -- I fully expect my BN.com order of LotR will be backordered as I was fairly late in using the 50% coupon to place my order, but I'm ok waiting a few extra days because of the sheer amount of cash I saved.

I can't give up those beautiful EE DVD boxes. They look great next to the books.

Amazon rules. I told them about me being able to pre-order the set at Borders for $66.24. They gave me a $20 credit to put towards pre-ordering it with them. Release date delivery and still cheaper.

What annoys me is that there was no status of "backordered" until today, the release date.

I have seen all of the special features three times and I'll be watching them again when I get the set. There's just something appealing to me seeing how these films were made, from makeup to applying individual chain links to chain mail armor.

I get the frustration (I'm sure I'll be annoyed with LotR comes out and I don't get my copy on release date, just like I was annoyed when I didn't get my Tron 2 Movie Collection from BN.com on release date when I pre-ordered) but from a software point of view, there is likely no way for their system to display a title that has yet to be released as backordered, or for that matter anything but pre-order.

Depending on how long it'll be backordered and how honest one is; you could always pick it up at a B&M store and then return the copy you get from borders.com once it shows up.

I actually cancelled my order through WBStore. Don't get me wrong, the price was fair and I love the movie. But for whatever reason I was getting a knot of buyers remorse in my gut. Once I cancelled no more knot. I'm sure this will eventually drop in price and I'll be able to track it down eventually. That or I'll just wait until the monster boxed set gets released.

On a shelf in alphabetical order. It's not some massively expensive item that needs to be housed in a glass case.
