I'm going to wait until the Insiders find something out about the tint and see what the reviewers have to say about it. IMO there is no reason to have a FDQ reaction until we get more information.

The version with this green tint will definitely be in stores, the release is in ca. two weeks. To late for changes. The discs will already be in production now.

To everyone fussing about green snow (which I don't see) I guess its okay to have people running around rivendell with the skin tone of the Simpsons, but not entirely white snow is a no no.

Because it's Warner, and they want money. Nothing else.

But putting it on two discs is right, the quality is amazing. I'm not sure whether it had been so good on only one disc.

Will seeing as how they still screwed up the VQ with it being on two discs it really does not matter if they used one disc

well return of the king is 80gb total so yeah they did utilize the 2 disks pretty well, the detail in all disks is amazing but the not accurate colors to the source on the FOTR is keeping me from buying this release.

Without an comparison, it does'nt matter whether there is a green tint or not. Will not see it so strong, if you just look at the movie, i think. We will see.

Well, the source of FOTR isn't graded at all. The film was transferred from 35mm to AVIS at 2K resolution then color graded as shown in EE special features. If they went back to the actual 35 film source and did a new transfer it was mandatory to do a new color grade.

At this point you can't delay a release. Not only have some discs already been delivered, it's likely that a significant number of discs have already been pressed.

I think if they do decide it's an issue, we're looking at an exchange program.

If one gets a response at this point in time it'll probably be from the legal department wanting to know where you acquired their product so early.
Well, it depends. If they do think it's a problem, it's more likely they'll do something about it if they're informed early (could/should be cheaper for them). Only after they've taken care of the technical side of things, will they sue you

They haven't screwed anything up at all these new releases look astounding so incredible detail and sharpness. And i see nothing wrong with the color in most scenes. i think the PQ is 5 out of 5 it is reference quality

I think the people that complain just want to ***** about something when all in all these new releases is just amazing

Go back and reread the last few pages and you will find that most of the "fussing" and "complaining" is in regard to the colors being changed from how Peter Jackson intended the film to look. If you don't like the original color scheme from previous releases, that's fine, but realize you don't like Peter Jackson's original color aesthetics for the film. There is no debate his level of involvement in the original EE DVDs and the colors from that are far different than what we are seeing here with this new release.

After further thought, it does indeed look bad. I canceled my pre-order and will wait for an ultimate edition that has the fixed grading for Fellowship EE, the rest of the EEs of the trilogy, and the original theatrical Blu-rays.
Interesting - at the very end of the clip, the pillow looks reasonably white to me; if there's tint, it's a bit more red than green, IMO.
