You can't go to the theater! You have to take the ring to Mordor
and cast it back into the fires of Mount Doom.

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

In the prologue, at the misty mountains, the clouds are White. The title of The Fellowship Of The Ring is white. The shire looks as vibrant as ever and the sky is blue and those clouds are White. Saruman and gandalfs hair and beard are grey/White like they should be. That cap of the hobbits and aragorn just before they get to weathertop looks nowhere near as dark or green as the cap shown on here. The White screen when frodo wakes up is an off white like the theatrical is. The longshot of them walking in the snow doesn't look like the caps either. It just looks a little bit bluer than the theatrical. The scene that everyone seems to love where the ring is laying in the snow, the snow is White. So I'm really confused. Maybe it's my setup. I'm using a 42" philips LCD tv and a LG blu-ray player. I really couldn't be more happier with it. The detail and depth are incredible. It really has never looked this good before. I think you all should look at the discs YOURSELVES before you judge it and refuse to buy it because I personally think you will be missing out just because of what you saw on the Internet. I also can't believe how incredible Rivendell looks as well. I really can't see warners doing a disc exchange program after viewing it myself.
It could be a combination of your eyes auto adjusting to the consistent green tint, your display, and you not being as sensitive to color timing issues but I doubt it's an issue where only the Chinese version has the green bias (people outside of that region with discs have confirmed it on their copies.) Many people never noticed the DNR in the TE either, just comes down to which particular pair of eyes happen to be watching it.

I guess I'll know when I get mine; I'm usually annoyingly sensitive to these types of things (I wish I wasn't.).

As griezzel says, fascinating!

Do you have the ability to do a screen capture?

With your comments plus the fact that Robert Harris keeps insisting that there is no green tint in his copies I have to begin to wonder if there are two masters with two different color timings.

It would be awfully strange if there were two versions, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility...

I certainly hope that is the case! Now how to tell them apart?

I'd imagine they'd have different inner ring codes...

I'm really sorry but I don't have a blu-ray disc drive on my mac. Is there another way to do it? I could try and take a pic on my phone but that would look terrible.

I think were getting ahead of ourselves. I doubt there are two
masters, it wouldn't make sense financially. For all we know he
could be watching Fellowship with his tv set to Dynamic mode.

We've joked about color blindness but, in all seriousness, perhaps that could be a factor. From the WIKI:

•Deuteranomaly, caused by a similar shift in the green retinal receptors, is by far the most common type of color vision deficiency, mildly affecting red–green hue discrimination in 5% of males. It is hereditary and sex-linked.

Five out of a hundred men have loss in their ability to see green.

If by any chance there are defective copies, it's probably better to wait to purchase until these copies are rooted out.

Or it could be that the set is not properly calibrated, or worse, it's torched. You never know how people are watching things, if it's torched the colors (and brightness/contrast/everything else) wouldn't even be anywhere close to correct even if the disc had proper color timing. Some people just aren't bothered at all by a poorly calibrated display (many even prefer insanely torched set ups.)

I don't think there were two masters used for manufacturing either, that would make very little sense.

I picture us all getting there and seeing him naked in the doorway holding a broom and shouting "You shall not pass!"

I picture him doing the same thing on Halloween.

He commented how he didn't like the green on his computer caps. Maybe he can view his computer on the tv or YouTube?

I'm not watching in dynamic mode. I can't stand that. My set up isn't professionally calibrated but I tried my best with the thx optimizers that's on the pixar discs. Maybe this is why I'm not seeing the green tint. Or maybe I am Colour blind in seeing green which is somewhat ironic as my favourite colour is green. But if that is the case I'm pleased that I am because the fellowship of the ring is one of my favourite movies and that green tint would of ruined it for me. I love the way this disc looks. I'm sorry then if the green tint is there but I really can' t see it.

Maybe that's why green is your favorite color. Cause you can't really see it.

Just watching Gandalf vs. The Balrog and the sparks of light that comes off of Gandalf are pure white.
