Please stop with the personal bickering back and forth as it makes the thread unreadable. Most members do not post, but read the forum. Anyways, any reasonable person would probably feel intimidated to post with all the attacks and bickering here. Make your point and move on, if you have a different point to make, do so. I think it is clear that the moderation will not let someone establish a "dominant" position by posting continously and "taking on" everyone with a different view on the subject.

Someone should tell Ken brown to quit his job. Apparently it doesn't matter what he says in his reviews at all, because we can really only judge a blu ray by buying it first. Even though ken says the tint is there, and we know we know we won't enjoy the tint: Unless, we have seen the movie, the green tint couldn't exist. Just like when a tree falls and nobody is there to hear it, did it really make a sound?

The blu ray reviews are here, so that we can make informed purchasing decisions. Praise the Internet.

Wow it is clear to me your opinion is the only one that matters and everyone else is wrong. Ken said himself that we should also judge ourselves. Please stop this behavior its really derailing the thread.

Can I watch your copy first... little point in "judging" something if I've already gone to the trouble of paying for it.

So the issue is just with FOTR? Green is my favorite color but I don't want my movies to look green.

Here's "the" ring, friend
It's hard to tell in my pics, but it's actually engraved, just like the one from the movie
...just couldn't get the camera to focus in on the writing on the side of the ring
The chain looks like it could be cheap, but the ring itself looks rather nice

For those complaining about the $69.99 price tag, you all need to gain some serious perspective on the situation.

You like your catalogs at $15? That works out to an average of $0.13 to $0.17 per minute of entertainment at 90 and/or 120 minute runtimes respectively. With the LOTR EE trilogy, at $23 each, it works out to $0.10 per minute of entertainment at a 240 minute runtime.

So, in fact, this price is, by and large, pretty damn cheap compared to most other catalog titles!

CHEAPSKATES EVERYWHERE!

It's already added.

Pretty sure it's been there for a while too (depending on your country settings, it's probably on the last page of titles you have though).

Can the mods make a new rule that if you are going to be replying to multiple posts consecutively, instead of creating a new post for each response that you put all the replies into one post? The reason the post count in this thread has ballooned these past couple weeks, aside from the controversy, is the tedious multiple replies from certain people that could easily have been put into one post (especially when the reply is no more than one word).

Thanks, friend
I searched "lord rings trilogy," but it wasn't listed... very odd
My site preferences are set to display titles from all countries, so I'm not sure how I missed it
Thanks again anyhow

Your suggestion is standard forum etiquette and should be followed.

Hmm I searched just for "Lord of the Rings" so maybe it doesn't/didn't like the Trilogy part?

This is a great post!
I'm cracking up here. Great logic... only $.10 a minute to watch my favorite trilogy/series (ok, 2nd favorite as I LOVE SW).

Maybe I will buy them next week after all. Still on the fence, if I wait till BF I get they will be much cheaper. Ahhh.

A Few More Words from RAH ...

[Show spoiler]http://www.hometheaterforum.com/foru...0#post_3825253

Quote:
For those who may be wondering where I've gone, I've completed my viewing. My thoughts, as updated at the head of this thread are simple.

How many films truly endure decades and the test of time?

Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Gone with the Wind…

Think about it.

How many films are purposefully passed down from parent to child, generation to generation, as something that has attained a sense of wonderment, and endures that passage of time.

From the masterworks of J.R.R Tolkien, filmmaker Peter Jackson has created a motion picture trilogy that not only has that quality to endure, but now Warner Home Video has brought Mr. Jackson’s work to Blu-ray as he wishes them to be seen.

The imagery and audio of these new editions are not only problem free, but have a very special majesty and exultation about them-- perfect in every frame.

Make no mistake. The new Blu-rays of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu-ray are a ceaseless wonder that will survive the generations. They demand your attention.

Colin McKenzie would be pleased.

Very Highly Recommended.

RAH

Edit:

A little bird whispered in my ear and suggested not to post this as the pot has been stirred enough already. Well, I stomped'em ....

In retrospect I should be kinder to little birds me thinks.

maybe... who knows
that's what I thought too, but "trilogy" is in the title of that BestBuy Exclusive
It's no matter... I was asking more for someone else than for myself
I'm happy enough with my theatrical editions
Each movie was already 9 hours long in the theater
You guys getting the extended editions are gonna have to pack a lunch for sure
