The cases we did get are still pretty good in their own right though. |

But besides the Witch-King entering Minas Tirith, with the overwhelming forces of Sauron assaulting Minas Tirith, I felt it would have fallen anyways without the help of Aragorn and his undead army. My question was basically, coming from Tolkien’s explanation of when Gandalf would involve himself…"physical powers of the Enemy are too great for the good of will opposers to be effective". My point is I felt the physical powers of Sauron’s army was too great for the opposers (good people of Middle-Earth) to be effective. So wouldn’t Gandalf do something to even the scales? Or did he feel confident (know) that Aragon was going to be returning with his undead army to save the day? And yes, I know I am really analyzing it. This is why I said earlier I am not being critical, I really love the LotR trilogy, and I mean the books and movies. I just find this fun to debate about it. ![]() Last edited by Hobbun; 07-06-2011 at 07:02 PM. |

I'm not much of a collector in the sense that I don't care what packaging looks like really, and just want it to be functional and take up as little space on myself as possible. Hell, I can see myself not owning any movie discs years down the road when we can hopefully just stream anything we want instantly. I hate clutter in the house. |

"Verily it is in the land of Lorien upon the finger of Galadriel that one of the three remains. This is Nenya, the ring of the Adamant, and I am its keeper. He suspects, but does not know- not yet. Do you not see now wherefore your coming is to us as the footstep of Doom? For if you fail, then we are laid bare to the enemy. Yet if you succeed, then our power is diminished, and Lothlorien will fade, and the tides of Time will sweep it away. We must depart into the West, or dwindle to a rustic folk of dell and cave, slowly to forget and to be forgotten." |

I'm a fan of movies, not dvds or blu ray or whatever format they're currently best delivered on. I move pretty often in recent years for work, have found myself mainly only watching movies from netflix rather than any of the 300 some I have on the shelf on BR/DVD, and live in a small condo where space is at a premium. So between those I've drastically cut back my movie buying the past few years and could definitely see myself moving on to just streaming movies down the road when nearly everything is available and quality is improved as internet speeds rise etc. |

Can I just say that we -- collectively -- couldn't have asked for a better director and team of writers, actors, and artists to bring the Lord of the Rings to the silver screen, and home on Blu-ray.
We are all very fortunate for that. Can't say as much for Narnia though. LOL |

As I understand it, PJ had some sort of presentation which demonstrated the scope of what he wanted to do. It must have been one amazing presentation!

But it ended up being the best decision Robert Shaye made as New Line president and was really the last good decision he made. |

Now if she would actually say something like "I think this worked better for the dramatic element we were going for in the film" thats one thing, but to say Tolkien's version wasn't good, mine is better, is just pure crap. Uh oh, in steps Radagast the Strong to smite thee!!! That's just a joke, I hate that scene as much as he does... |
