Well, just slightly off topic, but I guess this is perfect timing for celebrating these individual releases of LotR, lol... Just got this framed up the other night, and I'm hanging it on my theater room wall at this very moment - a somewhat interesting 3D Lenticular poster!

Pre-ordered the individual titles. Maybe this way I can finally get the correct discs for Return Of the King. I gave up after 5 tries with the box set.

Thought I'd let any interested parties know the Fullset version is currently going for $67 on Amazon.

I got bills to pay so I have to skip it.

Default About Return of the King disc #2

Hi, I just watched the extended blu-ray versions first time and noticed that there is a lag in a LFE channel during Return of the King. Disc #2, around 39 min mark where the witchking smashes its massive weapon first time to the ground. On my system LFE channel is noticable behind the video.

I checked my blu-ray copy of the theatrical cut and there is no such problem and LFE is in synch with picture. I can't verify if the problem is also in the extended dvd-version since I don't have it anymore.

Anyone else having this issue? I tested it with both of my PS3's and Sony BD player. All having the same story.

Well well well. Too soon to open a thread of its own, I guess, but it seems we have a new Tolkien trilogy on its way:

So Glad Guillermo del Toro didn't direct these films.

Glad because you don't think del Toro was right for the job, or glad because del Toro can work on other films like Pacific Rim rather than being locked down for three Hobbit films?

For me it's the latter. I love del Toro but I think doing multiple Hobbit films would have exhausted him terribly, especially after how he said Pan's Labyrinth nearly killed him.

I'm glad it ended up being Jackson because he's proved himself with Middle-Earth and its lore. I hope the Hobbit films are as successful as LOTR, but they probably won't be. The LOTR trilogy was huge.

For me, it's due to the uniformity of directorial vision.

+1. Would've been a shame not to have Jackson be the guy...

Why the price for this extended edition has been increased from 39.07 to 66.70?
This is a very steep rise...

The hobbit is in 3D does that mean the LOTR will be converted too?
