And the source of the files being used on Caps-A-Holic are from.... ?
That's the point I'm trying to make. Most of the sources aren't being named, none are being confirmed.

I don't believe anyone has posted shots from the actual physical BD disc. They all seem to be coming from various rips people are finding on their favorite torrent site.

Actual blu-ray dumps are availible online. These are identical to the physical discs. I'm guessing that's what those captures are from.

I can't attest to where they are getting the files from(disc or otherwise), but I can attest that the screencaps I've seen from their site have reflected the discs in my collection.

This release will be awesome, and I'm quite psyched for it, despite the apparent controversy over the colouring.

Ignorance really is bliss in your case.

In case you're not totally ignorant, which I assume you're not, providing a counter-argument to what others are saying might prove more effective and make you come across less like a rabid studio fanboy or at the very worst, a shill.

Us lotr fanboys should be trying to get the best products possible, not settling for any old rubbish only to be double dipped (or in this case, triple dipped) in the near future.
You're guessing wrong. Ignorance isn't bliss in my case either. However, I see you have a rather high opinion of yourself, even though your reading comprehension skills are wretched, to say the least. Rabid studio fanboy? Hardly. Shill? Obviously you've never read ANY other post I've made.

And I am more of a fan of LOTR than you could ever comprehend. I want the best possible product. What I want to hear is official reviews from people who officially have the official product in their hands. Not a pirated copy. I had noted some several thousand posts ago that this thread had not been hijacked by the screenshot experts yet, like the thread for the TEs had been. It now has been.

There has already been given a reasonable sounding explanation as to why these screenshots may not be accurate, some time back in this thread. People like you however, would obviously rather complain non-stop about something that hasn't been released yet, or officially reviewed by a legitimate reviewer. Sorry to invade your ranting party. No, that's not true. I'm not sorry.

I'll go for an official review too. If they make replacement discs, that's great. I'm still getting the set.

The master of fotr also appeared to be older then the other two film's masters and had a sort of digital old-generation master look to it. The master they used this time for fotr looks fantastic and filmlike, with much more detail and no DNR applied, the only problem IMO is the consistant strong green tint that runs throughout the whole film, which is especially noticable at the beginning in Hobbiton.

The Two Towers and The Return of the King appear to have been taken from the same master as the theatrical versions, only they have far more detail overall because far less DNR was applied this time (thank god) and they are spread over two blu-rays each, so they could be encoded with a far higher bitrate and therefore retain more of the detail and picture quality of their respective masters. From what I have seen, they look great.
How do you know they only remastered FOTR because of the complaints? What's your source? What's your source for any of the above statements? How is it that you have seen something not on the market yet?

Holy cow, that split-screen video comparison REALLY shows the differences in a MOVING image. YouTube is sure to delete that video sooner rather than later. Everyone should go watch it as soon as possible. Here's the direct link (embedding is disabled):

Stupid forum software automatically embeds any YouTube content. Can't find a way to turn that off. Just copy and paste without the dash.

There have been about 5 different sets of screenshots being posted, all of them different. All of them with their pros and all with their cons.

No one knows which is true and accurate anymore. It adds nothing to the discussion, because at least 80% of them are incorrect, possibly 100% of them.
I have seen a few screenshots that were 16-235 instead of 0-255.

Apart from that, I have not seen these mysterious 'different' screenshots you are talking about. Everything I have seen from several different sources is consistent. Of course the screenshots sourced from reduced-bitrate encodes are of a lower quality, but the colour timing they have is 100% accurate to the source.

I agree. They usually ALWAYS mention the Country of each release.
In this instance they only wrote 'TH Extended Cut Blu-ray". I guess they knew
they would generate a lot of views so they used a Blu-ray rip.

No, that's wrong... That must be their default 'list everything until we know' template... See US link above, that's accurate.
Well, it seems that Amazon.com is not the only site with that unusual subs list. The official Warner Bros web shop (wbshop.com) has the same specs:

Subtitle Languages:
Bulgarian
Croatian
Czech
English
French
German
Hungarian
Latvian
Polish
Portuguese
Romanian
Russian
Slovenian
Spanish

Sorry for not posting the link again. I guess you can easily check it.

Don't listen to them George! I'm on your side! In anycase, if PJ approved it, then I'll get it, so I doubt I'll be complaining about the set.

Are you serious? Did you watch the YouTube video split-screen comparison? Did you look at the sky behind Gandalf's head in that scene? You think the sky is supposed to look like that and it's an improvement?
