There is still hope in my mind for a disc replacement. If that does not happen there is hope that this will be fixed for the third release. This is well worth discussing.

I really hope all of my worrying was for no reason. I would much rather be wrong, and get a stellar transfer, than to be right, and get Gandalf the Green.
I would gladly eat my words and be wrong. This isn't some kind of competition to see who's right and who's wrong, and it's obvious that we all really care about these movies, we just have different opinions and expectations.

That's fair comment. We shouldn't have to put up with substandard releases, but I'm sure it's not the worst thing in the world, the colouring, even if it should be better.

First off it's not GREEN it's CYAN.

and those that can't tell the difference between green and cyan, tend to be people I don't go to for judgments on color.

Me personally, I'll wait until someone I trust has an actual copy in hand and tells me how it looks, and then go by my own eyes.

Screencaps are great, if you are familiar with the source, the capture method and the person posting them. None of these caps fall into that category. and even then, caps only help in telling you what a screen cap looks like. You need to see the movie yourself, in motion. You know how they call them MOTION pictures.

There most likely won't be a disc replacement because I can guarantee that the majority won't see anything wrong with the image.

Nonsense. You answered nothing in my questions about where you are getting your so-called data. Your response shows you have no credible response to the stupid statements you made about me OR the questions I posed about your information. You have no idea what you are talking about when you made your silly and incendiary post to me. Your post I've quoted is rubbish.

And since you've ignored two posts I've made, you are obviously trolling.

has it been announced at all that the movies are getting a new transfer or is it gonna be the same transfer as the TE's? i would imagine that since the EE's are pretty much a whole different film, it would get a different transfer.

That can't be the WB release. No way they've got some of those East Asian languages but leave out Western European languages that are standard on just about every release these days.

+1000

I dont give a rats ass about who is right or wrong and would gladly eat crow if these transfers turned out to not have this ugly green tint. I so hope that happens, but it is not looking good. I simply care about getting the best quality possible and IF these FOTR shots are accurate we are far from that goal.

It's the WB release from Thailand, usually WB discs have tons of subs because they make one disc and distribute it worldwide. It's possible that some of those subtitles would appear or disappear depending upon your region.

According to the post by Robert Harris at Home Theater Forum "Warner appears to be listening to consumer comments, as Part One has returned to the original 2k data files toward the creation of a new HD master."

Though the green tint is disappointing, I am super excited to hear the audio for this. I have killer seats at The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring in Concert happening this fall and the only thing better than lossless audio, is hearing the music live. Luckily you can't add any green to Howard Shore's masterpiece of a film score.

I have no information on the US release, but can provide the information which caps-a-holic documented.

http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleiche/test.php

Perhaps one of the people on here who does have the release already can answer a more direct question, i.e. specifically Spanish or French subs? Blu-ray.com lists Spanish subs on the releases detail page.
