I will take the screenshot in about 3 hours when i will get back home from work.

PS: Here in Romania the website from witch i pre-ordered the EE has modified the date of dispatch to 23 june. I can hardly wait. They have it on stock .. They will begin the dispatch process soon.

It's not just the youtube video. As we're getting some confirmation now from legit reviewers with actual discs in hand it seems like most of the early screenshots that freaked everybody out, are also incorrect.

Score one for those who said not to panic and wait for legit copies to show up.

So you are saying with your version of FOTR...

You don't see the tremendous color change from TE to EE?

Which one does your snow look like, White (TE), or Cyan (EE)?

Default Lotr se bd is the one to rule them all

According to digitalbits this extended set is far superior to the video image of the theatrical BD releases. While I am happy about how great they look I am disappointed that the Theatrical Releases didn't get the same treatment! I do feel ripped off (though it's my own fault for not wanting to wait another year ) so I will wait until this set goes on sell or they sell each movie seperately. I don't want all those extra DVD's which for me is a waste of space. Maybe I should just wait until 2014 when the whole complete set will be released in 3D!

I would personally wait for screencaps from these 'legit' official reviewers confirming their observations about the skies being blue rather than green before you break out the champagne...

yep now i know never to look at screenshots again before a release. Only listen to reviewers that have seen the actual disc

Note to everyone and myself - Don't listen to the people with screenshots of the Star Wars release in september. They most likely lie if bad to stir up an uproar. i really think it is lame of them to this kind of thing

Kind of jumping the gun, aren't you? I truely hope you're right and you don't end up looking like a right fool later on...

But they are not incorrect. There will be hordes of disappointed people voicing their distress in this thread once they have retail boxes in their hands. First they'll view the movie on their home cinema system and it looks fine: "It looked a bit greenish but it wasn't as bad as I expected. Certainly nowhere as bad as those screenshots made it to be!"

Then they insert the disc in a PC, grab a few screenshots, compare them to FOTR TE screenshots, and it's time for whine and cheese: "This is an outrage! FOTR EE is ruined by an ugly green tint! Hulk smash!"

Once more, with feeling: it's all about reference points. These legit reviewers of yours didn't see anything wrong because their only reference point was the disc they were viewing. Now, it would have been a totally different story if they had viewed TE and EE simultaneously, using TE as a reference point.

This thread and the corresponding one at AVS make me wish someone would invent an engine powered by cluelessness.

I will do so.
Which site is best for uploading pictures ?

PS : for the ones that want a particular screenshot specify also the movie :P i forgot to tell that.

For Petri Teittinen: I watch FOTR in parallel for finding the picture quality differences and i observed that the TE is a little brighter and has warmer colors but the EE is not that bad as the screenshots. In a few hours i will put some screenshots. I cannot make screenshots of TE because that weren't my discs and i gave them back to the owner. Have you had the movie in your hands ?

Screenshots from The Mouth of Sauron would be welcome. The Return of the King, disc 2.

Cheers, greatly appreciated! I'll get back to you with the times of two scenes from fellowship of the ring that I feel are of real interest, that of the ring in the snow in the mountains, with frodo and aragorn in the background, and the fade to white scene just before frodo wakes up in rivendell.

If the color-timing zeitgeist is any indication Obi Wan's lightsaber will be teal and Darth Vader's will be orange.
