Not only is that a misrepresentation... It's an outright bald faced lie on his part.

But as has already been pointed out... mreadman lives in his own little world.
But people's "recollection" of things can never be trusted. Look at eyewitness accounts and police lineups.. people see what they want to see, or not see. No eyewitness account is EVER accurate. You tell someone its more green, they SEE more green. Or not. Chances are, if no one ever brought this up, no one would ever notice.

Industry friends I trust who were at the theatrical screenings last night said they did notice small color timing changes in the presentation - much as Robert describes in his comments (as "a point or two toward cyan-blue") but nothing as bad as what these screenshots are showing. I would say my observations are that Robert's comments are accurate as well - there's a slight change in the timing, but not nearly as bad as what these screenshots are showing. Believe me, when I saw the screenshots myself, I WAS actually horrified. But that is NOT what I'm seeing on the actual discs. That's not what Robert is seeing either. I suppose it could be that some copies that leaked out early were defective. It could also be that some of these screenshot projects aren't accurately capturing what's actually on the disc. I don't know. "
Can you give a link? I can't find this.

At this point, I don't really care. I want to watch the extended editions in high-def. And I still feel the green tint lends itself to a fantasy movie.

I was doing scene comparisons last night on my Samsung plasma. The TE in my PS3 and the EE in my Panasonic BD55. Switching between inputs (both calibrated the same) I never noticed any green tinting everyone is complaining about. What I can say is that the EE has really been darkened ALOT. To the point that an incredible amount of detail is lost. On the other hand, the blacks are inky black and the improved contrast is nice. I guess someone thought remaster meant "darken to hide the imperfections".

But I didn't say they said they saw the color changes/green tint in the theatres(which no one has stated).

mredman did.

What part of this isn't registering?

This has gotten completely out of hand.

I can't wait until the Star Wars box set arrives.

You thought this was bad....

LOL... The second post says that they didn't see any green or really any changes at all.

So why you're quoting that one I have no clue. lmao

The first post is by JL Tucker who has yet to have seen a single problem with this release. I rest my case.

That's my main problem. As far as I know, you cannot return an opened blu-ray for a refund from any store. You can only exchange it for the exact same thing.

Huh come again what is this "Harlock - Well saw this last night and I tried looking for any sort of green tinting or "push." Now I'm not the most savvy person to comment on it but I may have been seeing it where it wasn't such as when Galadriel is tempted by the Ring and gets all scary. There is a bit of green"

But figured you would say something like that. On the other hand you are one that has already made up your mind about this release one way or another

Amazon will allow it if you do it right.

However, I am not planning on opening it right away, but by the time I do get around to opening it, I should have more than enough opinions from people who have seen it for themselves to get an idea if there is a legit problem.

My "goal" with this EE set is to have these versions of the films in all their blu-ray glory. Im trying not to read too much into these image quality arguments but things like green-tint and darkening are NOT what I want to hear.

I cancelled my preorder from Amazon earlier this week ONLY because the pricing seemed high and I expect to just get the set locally since BB always matches Amazon and Im in NYS so the sales tax argument doesnt fly for me. Worst case scenario, my terrific DVD set will simply have to do.

Anyways.... please let these have no issues or other oddities. I expect 100% awesome transfers without any BS. If I dont get that and start hearing about legitimite problems, Im gonna be real sore.

I actually do prefer the improved contrast but would like to have a little more detail back. The screen shots don't even come close how much darker some of the scenes can get from what I saw. There just needed to be a better compromise between the TE and EE fransfers. The EE looks great as long as I don't keep switching back and forth.

I also said that the theatrical presentation didn't look as cyan as the screenshots of the BD rip do.

You have got to be kidding me.Look at my first post about the EE theatrical presentation and tell me what you think the text in bold means.

Hell, I've gone back and looked at the comparisons and I think they look worse than the theatrical presentation.

I think mods should be a bit more active on this thread. Why don't you all take a 15 min break and go out? It might do you all good.
