I was doing scene comparisons last night on my Samsung plasma. The TE in my PS3 and the EE in my Panasonic BD55. Switching between inputs (both calibrated the same) I never noticed any green tinting everyone is complaining about. What I can say is that the EE has really been darkened ALOT. To the point that an incredible amount of detail is lost. On the other hand, the blacks are inky black and the improved contrast is nice. I guess someone thought remaster meant "darken to hide the imperfections".

So why you're quoting that one I have no clue. lmao The first post is by JL Tucker who has yet to have seen a single problem with this release. I rest my case. |

But figured you would say something like that. On the other hand you are one that has already made up your mind about this release one way or another Last edited by mredman; 06-16-2011 at 07:23 PM. |

However, I am not planning on opening it right away, but by the time I do get around to opening it, I should have more than enough opinions from people who have seen it for themselves to get an idea if there is a legit problem. |

My "goal" with this EE set is to have these versions of the films in all their blu-ray glory. Im trying not to read too much into these image quality arguments but things like green-tint and darkening are NOT what I want to hear.
I cancelled my preorder from Amazon earlier this week ONLY because the pricing seemed high and I expect to just get the set locally since BB always matches Amazon and Im in NYS so the sales tax argument doesnt fly for me. Worst case scenario, my terrific DVD set will simply have to do. Anyways.... please let these have no issues or other oddities. I expect 100% awesome transfers without any BS. If I dont get that and start hearing about legitimite problems, Im gonna be real sore. ![]() ![]() |

I actually do prefer the improved contrast but would like to have a little more detail back. The screen shots don't even come close how much darker some of the scenes can get from what I saw. There just needed to be a better compromise between the TE and EE fransfers. The EE looks great as long as I don't keep switching back and forth.

Hell, I've gone back and looked at the comparisons and I think they look worse than the theatrical presentation. Last edited by Deciazulado; 06-19-2011 at 04:51 PM. |
