They also conveniently have no shots of blue sky or snow. And if that green was balanced out, those shots would look even better.

A minor role, but a very important one. If it wasn't for her, Aragorn wouldn't have become King. I'd argue that anyway.

I actually really like the packaging. It's not as epic as the DVDs but it still looks really nice and the outer box itself is reminiscent of the DVD "story-book" set.

There's a rumour that these were handed out at the recent screenings. Each one compliments each film in the trilogy....

On a more serious note the package looks fantastic and black Amaray's? Yes please. I hope the UK gets the same. I've drooled over the French version of The Box and it's black BD case awesomeness.

The EE's DVD packaging aren't efficient for quick opening, therefore I consider them inferior. I'm not a fan of cases where you have to unfold them and then fold them back.

Rumor.

For those who don't have a problem with the new color scheme for FOTR, did you feel the same way when William Friedkin re-colored The French Connection?

And, yes, that's exactly the shade of teal/green found in some of the Blu-ray screen shots. I took the RGB values from the "fade to white" screen shot (just before Frodo wakes up in Rivendell).

I had my kids (7 yrs, 11, and 14) compare these shots... and it's easily the EE wins by alot.

The new color is much, much better here. Ok, it's changed, but it better!
I do wonder if all of you who like the old colors prefer it on this shot (by the way - I do see what you mean on the "snow" shots).

Cause we all know you have less 2.3 seconds to open a bluray case before it self-destructs lol.

have you looked at these?? the EE tranfer is waaaay better technically speaking -better mastering in general. the color is the only "problem". i personally don't mind buying the EE version of the movie. but if you look the SAME pictures WITHOUT the green tint you might change your mind.

I doubt most of them have ever heard of it, let alone seen it.

Thank you very much Ken, you're the best.

I don't have a problem with the new FOTR, but I DO have a problem with French Connection, mainly because the way the color was changed actually de-graded the image. Reds bleed into other colors, and detail was lessened.

But, since the director approved it, there has never been a re-release with the original look. Just, presumably, like FOTR won't be re-released as long as PJ approved it. There was a ton of complaining over French Connection, to no avail.

Should there be a law also that prevent people from complaining all the time on the Internet too?

Look if you are allowed to b!tch about how you dislike movies and changes made to them, the directors are allowed to make the changes. You can't have it just your way. If you dilsike the change, just don't purchase the movies, it's not life or death, it's just a movie.
