Does this frog look more friendly?
I asked Ken, and he said he didn't want to focus on those shots specifically, unless/until more information is released.
P.S. I'm red.

There's really no mystery here IMO. Perception of "white" is relative, that's just how human vision works. If Robert Harris is viewing the film in such a way that the greenish white is the whitest thing he's looking at, it'll register as white. Many pages ago someone said something to the effect that "if you hold up a piece of paper near the screen, you'll clearly see how green it is", but that's just not true, paper is never really white, it's whatever the color of the light bouncing off it is (something photographers regularly have to contend with). If that happens to be pastel green, well...

Saruman and gandalfs hair and beard are grey/White like they should be. That cap of the hobbits and aragorn just before they get to weathertop looks nowhere near as dark or green as the cap shown on here. The White screen when frodo wakes up is an off white like the theatrical is. The longshot of them walking in the snow doesn't look like the caps either. It just looks a little bit bluer than the theatrical. The scene that everyone seems to love where the ring is laying in the snow, the snow is White. So I'm really confused. Maybe it's my setup. I'm using a 42" philips LCD tv and a LG blu-ray player. I really couldn't be more happier with it. The detail and depth are incredible. It really has never looked this good before. I think you all should look at the discs YOURSELVES before you judge it and refuse to buy it because I personally think you will be missing out just because of what you saw on the Internet. I also can't believe how incredible Rivendell looks as well. I really can't see warners doing a disc exchange program after viewing it myself.

Some people just aren't bothered at all by a poorly calibrated display (many even prefer insanely torched set ups.)

I don't think there were two masters used for manufacturing either, that would make very little sense.
Some of you are amazing. Someone reports with BD's in hand that the issue is not as bad as reported and you come up with ways to say it is is not possible even implying the guy is partially color blind.

If the title is not green like it is in the screencap, then that could mean it was shopped.

Of course I don't think the reviewers on this site or any other would tamper with the screenshots. Could only a portion of the FOTR's being mailed out contain the nasty green tint?

Well, so why hasn't he taken 5 minutes to pop in a blu-ray, observe the sickening teal color, turn various shades of red, scream "WTF DID THOSE F'ING IDIOTS DO TO MY FILM?!?!" and get on the phone (and internet) to disown the wide-spread belief that he, himself, is responsible for the slime-effect?

Or perhaps he is legally required to keep quiet..?

When you decide let everyone know Boone (if that is your real name.)

Ahaha, I'm not implying he's color blind. I think given the fact that he opened with "The green shots looked terrible but...." pretty much rules that out. I don't think suggesting his display might not be properly calibrated is really that outrageous though, most aren't (and some don't prefer them to be once they are.) His eyes auto-correcting to the tint wasn't so much a possibility as it is an inevitability - it's the way they work. I am suggesting that you're Red though, not because I think you are but because a page without that accusation seems out of place.

Probably because he works for and with Warner and it has to be dealt with more delicately than that. If at work you thought something didn't go as smoothly as it could've I bet you wouldn't send an email to everyone in the company ranting and raving about incompetence - it'd make the higher-ups look bad, potentially hurt your company's reputation, and definitely hurt your standing in it. I doubt it's so much a legal requirement as it is common sense.

I just got back from seeing Lord of the Rings 'The Two Towers'. It was a lot of fun seeing this film at the theater again. I also enjoyed the introduction by Peter Jackson. They played the fan club credits again and I saw my name again

Also just got back. Theatre seemed even more full than last week. These films really do look great on the big screen again and being with a good crowd of people always helps as well. 2 down and one to go!

Oh yeah, and WBShop sent me an email about my EE set being shipped right before the movie started. Today was a good day

Screen cap the opening title and the snow shot. Those are continually called fakes by people here. End the debate. Please. I beg you.
The caps in my reviews are screenshots from the retail discs. And I took one of the snow shot (with the ring), just not one of the title. (Which I color checked and noted as having a green/cyan tint instead.) I only have so many spaces to load shots in the reviews, and I didn't want every shot to be one of the controversial ones. I didn't want to focus on just one area. As I've said, though, the vast majority of screenshots being posted are dead on. Any additional shots I posted would only be redundant.

And, just to clarify, we haven't been restricted when it comes to screenshots for some time

Ken when you get time, could you post the inner disc code/numbers for your two FotR discs?

When did you place your order for the trilogy? Just curious as I'm still waiting on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to be shipped. At this rate, I'm expecting to not receive it till mid July, it's part of the same order I placed on March 23rd. I really hope I'm wrong though.

Oh, I'm sure he and Lesnie have seen the discs. If it is an error, Jackson's silence is most likely a product of his satisfaction with the plan and reasoning WB has in place to address the issue. Why stir up a storm or ill will with the studio if he's confident in what they're doing to fix/resolve the problem? The only reason he would raise a fuss (presumably) is if he were upset with how they were planning to handle it, or if they were planning to sweep it under the rug.

I'm also sure he understands (if it is an error) that human beings make mistakes and that no one, including the poor tech who clicked his mouse one too many times, had any malice on the brain when the error occurred. (Again, if an error occurred. I feel like a broken record, but I don't want to suddenly be misquoted )

In other words, if there is an error, PJ's current silence is actually a good sign.

March 23rd is the date I placed the order as well.

I'd rather not add another layer of confusion to this debate, at least not based on the subjective impressions of one or more members. I fear it would only perpetuate the very unlikely theory that there are multiple pressings. If someone is seeing pure white, it is most likely relative, or derived from individual display calibrations. (All due respect.)

However, if a credible source posts screenshots that display pure white (which no one has yet to do), I'd be more than happy to post the codes/numbers of my discs, as that might indicate something more complex than what is being seen: a green/cyan tint on every FOTR disc screenshots have been taken from.

Hope that makes sense, and doesn't come across the wrong way!

Just got back from the Two Towers EE theatrical screening.

I only noticed one change: Galadriel in Lothlorien. The shot looked overexposed; there was a big hot spot on the left side (her right) of her forehead. I believe she also looked more saturated. This would be consistent with the changes made to the Lothlorien scenes in Fellowship (the Aragorn/Boromir conversation especially).

PJ's intro was a lot longer this time. Boy, he looked tired. He awkwardly rambled on about the challenge of making a movie without a real beginning or end, the crazy Helms Deep shoot, and creating Gollum.

The shot of Elrond RIGHT before it as well were blown out. Only negatives I saw though. Was a good night.

Just got back from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers extended cut in theaters. Amazing, amazing, amazing. One of the best in movie experiences i've had in quite a while. 4 hours of awesomeness. Can't wait for Return of the King next Tuesday. Great night!

PQ and AQ were awesome! =D
