It looks like art. When I paint I don't often use the correct palette, I go for vivacity. I like the look of the picture and think the colorization is more than acceptable and artistically credible..Anyway I'm sure you will be please to know that I am clocking off for the evening. Work in 6 hours, and apologies if my opinion offended anyone! I could have worded my statement a little better. G'night!

It is not antagonistic.

the brina does handle pictures in motion differently. Still pics can and do look different than wathcing the actual movie. Which is why it could be intentional and PJ was looking at how it is viewd in it's proper setting.

Some scenes are very disappointing, due to the new tint, while others are fabulous.
It would be an excellent presentation if it wasn't for the obvious blue/green/cyan tint in some scenes.
Even if they are intentional I 'll respect PJ choice but not change my view of perspective that they look ugly.

(I 've only quoted this part 'cause I don't want to continue answering to all other statements,so as to turn this to plain chatting).

Sorry my original post didn't make it clear that I was annoyed with all the opinions being made prior to almost anyone actually seeing the film. Perhaps that's what irritated some people.

I just wanted to put across a different opinion and that was to say that the pq was an improvement on the theatrical release and the colour changes looked acceptable to me. As promised I will new retire for the evening though...before I am drawn in again...the internet and sleep are not compatible.

I can understand that opinion - as youclearly preferred the old colour theme, and that's fine. I loved it. Take care, sorry for any misunderstanding!

I hope that's what he wanted, I will of course stand in the corner facing the wall in embarrassment if he announces a re-call!

I just find it odd that there is not one tiny little pixel of pure white in the entire movie, even though there are many shots of pure white in the other two movies. This more than anything just screams error to me.

You're telling me that you've never justified a purchase to yourself when something wasn't what you thought it would be? I do it all the time. I'm glad that people are watching it and some are liking it. However, I am positive that it would annoy me because I am very conscious about color temperatures and the effect on perception of tone and emotion.

This strongly suggest error to me as well, along with blue snow, green soap suds, shirts, etc, etc....

I think you are mistaken, I think rational people are calmly saying don't rely on a still or a you tube clip on your computer to form your basis of opinion. Hypothectical you run into PJ at a 7-11 and you tell in the EE of FOTR new color timing sucks arse you hate it and he asks well did you actually watch the film in motion on your HD TV? What do you think his reaction would be when you say no but you have see internet stills and you tube clips? Don't tell me about Iona!

Shirts are white throughout in daylight scenes - I have been whizzing through the film instead of sleeping to make sure!

They are not from film footage, just set photo's - so that's not a great assumption to make. Most colours are changed in the edit suite...

How likely do you think it is that all this green tint stuff was invented? That it's all a hoax?

I'm sorry there is an alternate solution to the mind set of the "shut up naysayers" group. The others being they are crazy or they are Supernatural beings. If it is either of those cases: then I do not have the capacity to understand their motivations, and I will stop posting now.

I've been waiting for these extended edition movies to release on BD forever.
As far as the picture issue everyone is complaining about BEFORE the release, I think we should watch the movies first and then judge.
