For those in denial, I feel your pain, but it is embarrassing to watch you twisting in the wind. I am now convinced that the EEs released tomorrow are exactly as the filmakers intended and have placed my order with Amazon. TEs will be passed along to family. |

I've been backing you Bill. You had our backs with the whole Gladiator debacle and I do appreciate that. People loved you for that but now that you bring us the news they didn't want to hear, you're considered not credible. I and many others know you're a straight shooter and you're on our side. Keep up the good work.

Ok, well in my opinion this keeps getting stranger and stranger.
I was just watching TV and on comes a commercial for the EE blu-rays. The commercial starts talking about how this fan favorite version looks better than ever before, however, the only shots in the entire commercial from FOTR that last longer than a quarter of a second or are recognizable as being from FOTR at all are 2 brief shots taken from the EE DVD and used to show how the old DVDs looked. Then it switches to a scene from ROTK and uses that as the wipe to HD. From that point on, every single scene that is used to show the superior HD quality is taken from either TT or ROTK ... with one single exception. It seems to briefly show a snippet from the scene near the end of FOTR where Frodo is on top of Amon Hen while wearing the ring, and I would swear that at the very least the contrast was back to normal, even though the overall darkness of the "ring-on" scenes makes the green tint harder to judge. I can't even be sure it was this scene from FOTR, because it's so brief and something about the shot didn't seem to match the Amon Hen shot (does he put it on again before end of ROTK?), but that in itself is saying something. How do you do a commercial on the blu-ray extended trilogy and spend only a total of about 5 seconds showing scenes from FOTR and have even those taken from the DVD release instead of blu, and then spend the entire rest of the time jumping back and forth between TT and ROTK for your HD samples? There's something very strange about that. |
