My copy just arrived. After inspecting the discs I'll see if this dreaded LOL GREEN TINT is present.

that would be wonderful. but doubt it would happen since PJ had already endorsed the new transfer, right?

Honestly, I'm watching Fellowship right now and while I can see the green tint...it's not as noticeable as those screenshots.

There's a nice comparison on YouTube...man....the highdefdigest review
is spot on with the following quote:

Quote:
The random darkness of the film also got to me, especially when Gandalf first knocks on Bilbo's door, as that shot looks the same on this release as it would if you watched the Theatrical Blu-ray wearing sunglasses, and that isn't even an exaggeration.

The Fellowship EE digital copy is 2.94 GB on iTunes. Towers EE is 3.30 GB and King EE is 3.67 GB.

RAH

The EE has always been identical to the TE in terms of color timing, etc. It was meant to be an expanded version of the TE for the most hardcore fans that expanded story elements not possible in the TE because of time constraints.... not an entirely different experience. Jackson has never indicated he wants the EE to have a different timing than the TE, especially given the care he put into the grading process of the original to achieve specific moods scene by scene (as seen in that video.) Honestly, it's almost impossible to watch that video about the specific color grading of places like the Shire and Hobbiton, watch this new release, and explain it away.

With all due respect, Warner would have to remaster TTT & RotK and have the BDs without DNR for us to have all three films in top quality.

Picked up my set from BB this morning. They took the $5 off coupon also. $69.21 out the door.

The packaging is amazing. I will pop in FOTR when I get home from work.

Have you checked ebay?
I sold my EE DVD set for $40 and $3 shipping just a few months ago. I could not believe they were going for that much, but that was the "normal" rate at that time. Check it out ... who knows what you can get.

There has been confirmed reports that it was not a mistake, why is that so hard to understand? The extra about the color grading was made back in the early 2000's and PJ has a right to change his mind, like you have a right not to buy them. IMO you might be better off not buying them. It seems to me that you are dead set on not liking them and you would just waist your money.

I think an isolated score, with the video, should have been present as a bonus feature on all three films.
