The EE has always been identical to the TE in terms of color timing, etc. It was meant to be an expanded version of the TE for the most hardcore fans that expanded story elements not possible in the TE because of time constraints.... not an entirely different experience. Jackson has never indicated he wants the EE to have a different timing than the TE, especially given the care he put into the grading process of the original to achieve specific moods scene by scene (as seen in that video.) Honestly, it's almost impossible to watch that video about the specific color grading of places like the Shire and Hobbiton, watch this new release, and explain it away. I sold my EE DVD set for $40 and $3 shipping just a few months ago. I could not believe they were going for that much, but that was the "normal" rate at that time. Check it out ... who knows what you can get. |
