My set hasn't even been shipped out yet, and it's already release day. Sometimes I just HATE Amazon.

DaViD,

The documentary video, posted here a number of times now, was taken from the FOTR EE DVD and shows extensive DIGITAL grading done to FOTR at the time. The documentary video is called "DIGITAL GRADING" and in it Peter says that he did a digital color grade on Fellowship of the Ring and they show many examples of it and show the work being done on the computer.

So I really don't know what you're talking about.

Here's the link to the video:

I just received my set. Is the digital copy suppose to be seperate discs under the booklet? Or is it on one of the discs? Because I don't see any digital copy discs in my set.

There are no DC discs... only a loose pamphlet with 3 separate codes for download.

Obviously I cant guarantee this, but if you can only get it on saturday then its very unlikely that Best Buy will be sold out. Is Best Buy the only place you can buy it? Walmart will likely have it for the same price or less. I would be VERY shocked if you live in an area that has a Best Buy but not a Walmart.

one thing you can do is check Bestbuy.com and use the "check store availability" option.
My Walmart sells the set for $86 something if I'm not mistaken. I was just there browsing to see if they had Sleeping With The Enemy. So for now BB and Amazon has the best price.

Lucas has done this to some of you already. he calls it "Special Edition"... and when The Wars come out, it will take over Rings as the No. 1 title released, EVER! until Indy comes out... with it's "changes"...

now I'm not saying: get a life, stop whining, get it anyway. not my place to say that. but, it's not necessarily nice for you to talk down to those that don't see a problem either, (untrained eye, you're just blind sheep who'll buy any piece of crap, mine is better than yours so shut up) The Clouds Aren't White! won't make me enjoy The Story any less... My Opinion ONLY...
I'm sorry, but this sounds insane. While it is has occurred to us that, however unlikely, PJ intended this green tint throughout the film, I would guess that none of us have been given to speculate that PJ intentionally messed up this beloved film to find out who the "real" fans of it are ... especially when the "real" fans of the film in this scenario would apparently be those who don't notice or care about the massive green shift and over-the-top contrast boost that has degraded the picture quality, narrowed the color spectrum and reduced a very significant amount of shadow detail.

So, no, that has not occurred to me.

Digital Copies should have been handled like this from day one. Think of all that wasted plastic used for DCs.

No I did not get a ring. Now that you bring it up I should have asked
I did not see any pre-order rings out on display today and I was at Best buy yesterday evening and they had a few of them out then.

It said on the package for the ring that it was only available until the 27th

So my wife has the box but I want to clear somthing up that no one else has yet to bring up..

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120737/

Runtime:178 min (theatrical version)
208 min (special extended edition)
228 min (Special Extended Blu-Ray Edition)

I have seen this listed in a few areas that the run time is 228mins, but I ahve the extended at home I know by heart it was only 208mins.

Is IMDB and my other sources crazy or am I?

The extra 20 minutes refers to fan club credits listing. The actual movie is 208 minutes.

Hi all. Sorry this is coming so late. This afternoon, the Vice President of Publicity and Promotion at Warner Home Video forwarded me the official WHV statement you've all already read several times over. (Thanks to Mr. Harris, who let her know I was looking for a confirmation of the statement's source.)

I don't have any other news to report at this time, although I've updated my FOTR review accordingly. Thanks for your patience. Please accept my apologies for being so late to the table on this one
