Keep it up. You are the agitator here. I don't see many others except the ones you are agitating. Your games don't work with me, Marx, I mean Murks, if that is what you call yourself.

Not to be a lemming but troy an ed are completely right!
My biggest question is why a mod won't just close the thread

Why did you cut this point out of my statement. This is the type of thing you do to cause your trouble. Your games do not work by trying to turn the tables on people. This is cheap masonic parlor tricks.

I finished watching the 2nd disc of Fellowship and I still did not have any green tint. All looked fantastic on my set. The menu book changed colors though from disc 1. On my set disc one's menu book was the slightest hint of mint green on the pages and the menu bar was a little darker green. The disc 2 menu book was the slightest hint of cyan for some weird reason, but the menu bar was still the same intensity green as disc one. I am still not getting any of this green tint like was shown earlier in those screenshots throughout Fellowship. Don't know what to say to those that are having that problem though.

And I make that dissatisfaction known to the people responsible. That's the only way to effect change.

If Warner gets flooded with negative feedback it might have an effect. Doing nothing will most certainly not have an effect at all. Now do your choice. What's preferable if you don't like a product? Even a 5% chance of a remaster is better than 0%.
If this is the transfer and new color grading PJ approved. And it has been confirmed by warner it is approved by PJ. There will not be an exchange program when this transfer was given the OK by PJ. They would never go against his wishes. People that believe this are kidding themselves. Yes we can hate it or love it but this was given the OK by PJ so they will notissue a replacement program.

There is nothing to be dissatisfied about... the release looks great. I saw nothing in it that made it look different than the other two films. I was highly sceptical but am happy I took the chance and bought the set.

Look at my post history in this thread... I'm not a WB or Jackson apologist.

Some of you guys remind me of the food critic in Ratatouille. "I don't like food I LOVE food!" You guys don't like LoTR, you LOVE it. And you love it so much that you almost can't enjoy it anymore because you're too busy being a critic. That's just my two cents on the matter. These 427 pages have been nothing but bickering about what's better and what's not, and really for what? I mean, I don't think anything has been resolved in all of this. Just one side saying to the other that one's better than the other and vice versa. A whole lot of good that did...

Oh and people like yourself who regurgitate the same complaints over and over again really bring something valuable to this thread. Get off your high horse dude.

Even though the screenshots are accurate, it isn't as obvious when watching the film, and certainly isn't one that should give too many people a headache

Here's a screenshot (a larger version can be found in my FOTR review):

Here are some images from the iTunes Digital Copy of that scene with the horses in the water. Note the green tint is not there! Also, the Windows version of the FOTR EE does have the tint. This is an example where it is not present in one aspect of the media released for the new EE Blus, highlighting that something did go wrong with the authoring of all the media -- based on the inconsistencies:

Please feel free to educate me if I'm wrong but, I thought digital copies were all dvd quality. So we have some digital copies that have the tint and some that don't? Why doesn't this make any sense to me?

Well, that's assuming that the iTunes digital copy is coming from a new master. Apparently iTunes was selling a digital version of the EE taken from the DVD master. I wouldn't be surprised if these were re-purposed from that version. I'm not saying they were, but it is a possibility to consider.

My favorite posts in this thread are all the one complaining about people posting in this thread, which have been posted in this thread.

Those, and the one guy who compares people to Karl Marx. Yeah, that's not over the top.

Who uses digital copies really I personally don't

A proper still frame would be to take the theatrical an EE
in that frame you have taken then compare the two.

I watched
the first one the other day an yes its a slight an I mean slight
hint of green not enough to ruin the quality of the flim but the faces look amazing like everyone has been saying the detail on them is unreal an the ring detail is reference quality just like the film itself

One thing I would like to ask out of all the people for an against it why no appreciation
or mention of the other two films why so hung up on the green issue?

No doubt. Hobbiton is definitely more muted than it should be due to the green tint.

Oh I agree with you! Detail in general is fantastic.

The tint however definitely muted many scenes/items throughout the film and just made many things look a bit off/strange. Getting rid of the green tint would take this transfer to the next level and that is the issue for many including me.

In the color grading special feature of the FOTR EE DVD, the editor mentions that he originally thought he was going to add green to the shire scenes to make them more beautiful, but actually he found that doing the opposite brought out the lushness of the landscapes more, with purples and reds balancing out the image and making it richer.

True. Still points to an authoring mistake. If PJ authorized the green tint, and iTunes used an old DVD master for the "new" EE Digital Copy, and Windows used the new PJ approved master, then someone made a mistake!!!

If I can download a Windows version of the Digital Copy, I will post images
