I just wrote WB and thanked them for a great transfer and their hard work on the LOTR EE set!

Either way it would be best to quit touting your display as "calibrated" because that is not the case if all you have done is basic DVE adjustments.
Well, I did it myself when I discovered that I had to pay a couple hundred bucks for some other guy to do what I already did for $15. As I said before there is nothing basic about it if you have 20/20 or better vision.

Please take your own advice and leave US alone, since you have absolutely nothing else to contribute to this, being the owner of a copy of FOTR EE without any green tint.

In fact, since you have a version of FOTR EE without any green tint, you should probably make a new thread for those of you who received this version. You have nothing to add to this whatsoever. Let those of us who DID receive the copy with green tint continue discussing possible agents of change without resorting to petty insults.

Thanks Eddie!
I am not the one replying to my own posts. You are replying to my posts AND making an issue out of what I say. I posted my own observations and nothing else. Whom do you think you are trying to kid with your CIRCULAR posts and responses. I say something and you turn my responses back on me. You are not fooling anyone with these tactics. And you are calling me childish? Children repeat and say things over and over again and repeat what has been told to them back at who said them. That is clearly what you have been doing. Do I need to prove your own doings here to you?

20/20 vision doesn't account for one's ability to resolve colors, only detail.

Yeah exactly, he's focused on the Hobbit now and I'm pretty sure that's taking up 16 hours a day. People need to let the man move on to a new project.

I'm currently watching Towers and I like the colors there more than what's on the new master of Fellowship. Don't get me wrong, Fellowship looks marvelous on its own, but Towers looks much better, especially the scenes with Aragorn and Arwen and Elrond and Galadriel.

I have had a color test and that came back normal too. Anything else you want to try and debunk?

Snow is still white, beards are still white or gray, and that guy that posted the caps from the second breakfast scene has some screwed up displays.
I'm aware of that. It's still not consistent with the other movies when you watch them. I don't claim to see pea-green soup lathered over everything. I do see a tint that darkens the image, occasionally limits the color spectrum and occasionally eliminates detail. It's not AWFUL, but it's not what this movie deserves. It deserves STELLAR. I want a BD set on my shelf that can potentially be on that shelf until the end of physical media, representing the closest thing I will ever have to owning a film copy of FOTR. The current version is not it, according to many of us.

As a die-hard fan, wouldn't you like to see a different version of it anyway? It's not like you have to do anything. You don't even need to replace it if you're happy with that version.

Nobody is calling your perception into question. It's just a matter of how much what you're perceiving bothers you, or doesn't.

For some of us, simply knowing it's there and detracting from the movie experience in any way, shape, or form, is enough to hamper our experience with a movie that should be free of worry.

I own the set, it's not like I'm formulating my opinion based on screens. I even recommend all fans of the movie buy it, unquestionably. Why does it seem so hard to understand where I'm coming from?

Hey man, you're right. After all w/o constant complaining about BD releases on blu-ray.com, would we be getting new and un-DNR'd blus for Predater or Patton? For that matter, would Echo Bridge still be releasing BDs in incorrect aspect ratios and 2.0 stereo if not for the valiant bit¢hing and moaning on these very forums.

Wait, they aren't re-releasing Predater, and Patton?
......and Echo Bridge is still releasing shovel-ware?

.......nevermind

Well, it seems to me that you've been repeating the same things ad nauseam the entire time you've been "contributing" to this thread.

Thank you for proving you can't have a discussion without being hostile and argumentative. I will be sure to ignore future posts from you since they are contributing absolutely nothing to the discussion whatsoever.

I agree with you. I suppose we will see if there's a remaster when a four movie set is released with The Hobbit. However, I wouldn't hold your breath.

Some of my favorite scenes from the whole trilogy.

Gladiator (among others, mentioned over the course of the thread).

Joe Sixpack did not get that one changed. Why only cite results where it fails, instead of where it works?

Doing nothing will unquestionably yield 0 results. Doing something at least gives us hope. Hasn't LOTR taught you anything about hope?

Funny you say that, a remastered Patton is confirmed to be in the works.

Honestly, "a couple hundred bucks" would be a good deal for a pro calibration assuming the calibrator knew what he was doing. There is a reason why one costs substantially more than the other. One is a basic adjustment and one is a genuine calibration which requires additional tools and what you have done is the former. Your 20/20 vision means nothing when doing a proper real calibration since this requires additional equipment to get right.

Please do...

I have contributed enough by telling people there IS NOT a problem with this green tint ON MY setup. It was several others, including yourself that continued on and on and replied to my posts because my posts did not agree with yours and your supporters. Again, my setup is what it is and I am glad I do not have the issues others seem to be having.
