Don't forget to note the Hue setting before you start. You may want to return to it for other movies.

I use headphones for audio and all three films have the best audio I've heard from all of the BDs that I own.

Just put in RotK Disk 1. I just noticed that the cover of the book in the opening title sequence is blue which seems to be the predominant hue (subjectively) in the title sequence as well as the options text at the bottom.

So, I went back to FotR Disk 1 opening title sequence. The cover of that book is clearly green (no funny remarks required). I then checked TTT, where the book cover seems to be grey). I'm now convinced that the tint on the title pages is indeed thematic.

And now I'm not convinced: https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ml#post4925977

Try the Hue adjustment I suggested a few posts above for the FOTR EE Bluray, and let us know if it works for you!

Don't forget to note what your Hue setting was before adjusting it for the FOTR EE, so you can go back for other movies.

Thanks, but I'm happy with the look of all three EEs just as they are.

Have any of you found and watched the Easter Eggs yet? The one on RotK is hilarious!

The EE set of Standard Def DVDs that came out a few years ago each had colored cases (Fellowship - Green, Towers - Red, Return - Blue) and if you look at the spines of the blu-ray EE discs they have also carried on that tradition. Maybe we just see green more prevalently than blue and gray? Fun facts tho!

Not sure if you owned these versions on DVD, but the book style menu on Fellowship always looked green (even on the DVD).

I'm glad it works for you, but this almost seems like it's a joke.

Anyhoo, I wouldn't want to 'fix' my set for a film anyway. It is what it is, and having to adjust my picture settings in order to view a film isn't desirable by any means.

Thankfully, I love the new changes to FOTR

I saw it on the digital copy. Funny little artifact.

Could it be that the green has anything to do with the story? is that in the books?

I hadn't looked at the case spines before! The TT EE BD title sequence differs from the the other two where the covers are clearly visible. It appears that the book cover has already been turned before the page turns in that one. Nevertheless, the color of the title page sequence was the only reason I thought there might have been an unintentional error. The thematic use of the three colors corresponding to the color of the spines and the book covers depicted in the title sequence have me convinced that the look of the title sequences are intentional.

No. I just owned the TE. My first time watching the EEs. I was going to pass on them before I read a few reviews about the 6.1 discrete audio and the improved detail. I am very happy with this new set.

I looked at the top of the TE disks. Same Green, Red, Blue theme for FotR, TTT,RotK, respectively.

It is possible that the Hue on your HDTV is already "off", and that is why it looks fine to you.

Could be a reason for many to profess that they cannot even notice the "green-tint".

Just finished ROTK yesterday and I'm on appendice part 2 for FOTR at the moment. Never owned the EEs on any format previously and I'm enjoying the appendices quite a bit. Not in the least boring as some docs are, quite often being no more than an extended trailer.

How do you get to the Easter Egg?

I think they were on the DVD set, but I'm not positive. Someone made a reference to
[Show spoiler]Jack Black
being hilarious at the council, and I couldn't figure out what he was referring to. Just in case there are others out there who would like to discover them for themselves:
[Show spoiler]On disk 1 of each movie, bring up the pop up menu. Scroll to Commentaries. When the Commentaries Bar comes up, don't click on it. Scroll left or right to the Ring Icon and select it. These Easter Eggs are for mature audiences

The main menu on the first disc of Fellowship has the Easter Egg with Jack Black at the council.

raygendreau beat me to it.

I'm not sure what you're rolling your eyes about. I think I just misunderstood his post. I've read some people here and on AVS saying that WB also screwed up the main menu of Fellowship, because of it being green. I was just pointing out that the menu was always a yellow/green and has nothing to do with the new color changes.
