Maybe it will include a note from Jackson that says:

Warner Bros./New Line have me captive. That man making The Hobbit films is an imposter. The green tint was put over Fellowship for his dastardly plans in ruining the Hobbit movies!

Thanks for buying the set!

4. Those who think the tint works in certain parts of the movie, but who would like to see other scenes put back the way they were. Basically a more thoughful frame by frame-scene by scene approach instead of the "oh well, lets just be lazy and globally tint the whole thing."

Have I left anybody out? Personally, I'm in the #4 group.
You missed the biggest group of them all
Those who don't even know there is a tint (probably 50-60% of those who bought it).

I don't have my dvd versions anymore to do the comparison myself, so I can't put 100% stock in them actually being framed differently, and not just an error in the site's capturing process.
I am assuming the new framing is correct, since it is a new master... but with everyone comparing it to the TE and screaming "it should look the same," I assume they want the incorrect framing as well. Since that's all I keep hearing on here.

It doesn't seem to me we've actually been saying that it should look exactly the same as the TE version. TE screenshots are mainly posted for context and as a control sample. The new master was regraded and it very clearly has some significant, intentional, scene-by-scene color differences from the TE version (Council of Elrond, Lothlorien, making lots of faces brighter in dark environments). It's just that AFTER those scene-by-scene changes were effected, the green tint was thrown over top. That's where our complaints start.

Take care,
HeKS

You're saying the TE's were framed incorrectly? Have a link to someone from WB stating that?

Sorry for the double post. Don't know how to edit a post with a quote involved.

Got my set last week, haven't watched any of them yet though (to be honest I haven't had the NEED to watch them since I just saw them in theaters a few weeks before the set came out).

I did watch a little bit of Fellowship of the Ring just to check it out, and I didn't really notice/mind the green tint and I kind of feel like I wouldn't even know of it had I not read it on the boards here. I'll have to watch the whole thing through, though.

You didn't notice it or you didn't mind it? Which is it? It can't be both.

Just got this set the other day; it's probably the prettiest blu-ray set as far as packaging goes that I have. It's really nice. I had never seen the extended editions of these so last night I decided to give the Fellowship a watch. At first I was stunned that it was over 3 and a half hours long, but it ended sooner than I thought since the credits were literally 35 minutes long.

Oh and I only noticed a tint a few times throughout the movie and that was probably because I glanced at the 3 million pages of everyone talking about it here first.

You gotta love the Oliphants, if you have a subwoofer.

Are the movies loud enough to tune out noisy neighbor kids?

That would depend on your setup, but generally I would say yes.
Don't you own the set?

Going to try to finish FOTR (just watched disc 1 on Friday) either Sunday or Monday. Can't wait to get to the 2nd & 3rd movies (more action, better movies IMO) & continue enjoying the Incredible AUDIO on the set.
