If he meant best blu ray for PQ overall then no, not even close. Better than the TE of the same films, sure.. unless you give more weight to the correct colors and black levels on FOTR TE vs. the better resolution of the EE.

I own both the Canadian and American editions of this set. The box that houses the plastic cases is different. The Cdn one is more on the copper side in terms of color. Whereas the U.S. one reminds me of brass in terms of color. Also, based on switching discs and visual observation, it seems that the U.S. FOTR discs has better PQ than the Cdn FOTR discs. Case in point, character's faces. With the U.S. disc I saw a greater amount of detail in character's faces than with the Cdn one. I also saw another difference that'd make owners of the Canadian edition green with envy. PM me if you want to know the details.

I did the same thing with my avatar as I captured straight off the BD. Everything that was supposed to be white became white when I hit the color correct button.

Besides that question, can anyone confrim this claims? It's hard for me to believe but I also own the Canadian set and can't compare it with other editions. |

I'd bet the county the farm was in.
US and Canada don't get separate masters of the same film on the same day. Period. Another case of the placebo effect convincing people they see things they don't. Just like people swearing up and down "their version" doesn't have any issues. |

the extended editions are superb picture and audio.
hard to fault PQ and truly engaging AQ IN 6.1 dts-MA. i would say one of the best blu-rays i have seen to date. The so called green hue is not an issue, being from new zealand this looks quite natural. i would highly recommend this set to those who love the trilogy and have a system which can truly unleash this releases potential. system : dynaudio contour fronts/centre/rears velodyne dd12 sub, amps perreaux 250 i / pioneer vsx-lx70 amp panasonic bdp 35. panasonic pt-ae4000 projector. |

I have finished watching The Fellowship of the Ring, and I am completely satisfied with it. In Shire scenes it sure looks darker, but I didn't notice any green tint, or it wasn't that strong that my eye would have noticed it. Gandalf was gray as supposed to, Caradhras was snowy white as supposed too.
You guys made it a way too big deal just because of some screenshots. I remember someone even cancelled his order because of screenshot. LOL There was absolutely nothing wrong with this movie's colours, it looked fantastic. |

![]() I agree, however, that it's not as noticeable as it seemed from the screenshots. |

It's just a white balance though...If you change the overall colouring then re white balancing will just get rid of the colouring. Why is anyone surprised by this? It would alter 90 out of 100 modern movies...It's meant to look un-natural.

I don't B.S.. I was trying to HELP people make a decision whether to buy the Can. version or the U.S. version. I'm just reporting what I saw. I'm the one who owns and has seen both, not you. If anyone doesn't believe me and buys the Can. version over the U.S. version it'll be their loss, not mine. Especially when it comes to the green tint issue!
