I just thought it was a little bit of a picky question to ask. If you're not willing to pay MSRP why would you expect someone to sell it to you for less? |

Some like helping others out. When Zodiac was going $40+ used on eBay and Amazon, I sold my first copy for $15 shipped.

I'm glad you set a price point on something you are seemingly desperate to own. If it's THAT important to you, an extra $15 isn't going to kill you. If they movies aren't "worth" that much to you, then I fail to see why it's so important to have them in the first place. Plus, it's not like it won't ever be on sale again.

I am having trouble viewing these discs now. They worked fine yesterday. The Blu-rays do not progress past the loading disc icon. I have left them there for six minutes and nothing. They were loading instantly yesterday. This is a set from the initial release last summer, and they have worked since then so I know I didn't get a bad batch. I have tried other discs in my collection and they load fine.
Does anyone have an idea on what I can do to fix this? Last edited by AreaUnderTheCurve; 02-06-2012 at 11:58 PM. |

I did that and it didn't work. Then, I had an idea. I changed the "auto-connect to the internet" feature to "ask". That solved the problem. I guess, during the internet connection attempt, it screwed up.

This first happened to me with several titles in 2008 when I bought my PS3. Turning the internet off or setting it to prompt will fix this issue. This is part of the reason BD-Live never got off the ground and is still in the dirt.

This question has probably been answered already, but I don't feel like digging through the 500 pages of threads to find out.
I got the Theatrical Trilogy shortly after it came out, and for one reason or another, never got around to watching it. I don't care at ALL about the extra footage in the extended editions as I feel like the movies are actually a little long for my taste as it is. I DO however care about picture quality. The PQ rating on the review got a much higher rating on the extended cut than it did on the theatrical cut. Is it really a noticeable enough difference in PQ that I should trade up? And I'm not looking for answers about what I'm missing by not watching the extended edition, again to me that is irrelevant. It's all about the PQ for me on the difference. Thanks in advance |

All three look like this. Fine detail is much better in the EEs. |

I sold my theatricals for $25 dollars and applied them to my upgrade and it was well worth it. I have enjoyed them ever since. It has a very nice package too.

My brother actually picked up the extended editions when he was down visiting me, and I did LOVE the packaging it came with, but he lives several hours away from me and I've not seen how the BD's actually look. There's a place here that's really good about trade-in to sales price value. Hopefully I can upgrade to the EE's relatively cheaply there.

I also think Gandaalf's face closeup looks a little more naturally colored on the theatrical version. But if fine detail is THAT much better, the tradeoff is still probably worth it. The scene in the cave where they are all knelt in front of the box (lol its been years sinec I actually sat down and watched the movie sorry for lack of characters names and/or what's actually happening) the shadows make more sense in the theatrical cut too. |
