I'll be making my way to the store I frequent and see if they have the EE in stock in the next couple days.

Yes, and that is another problem with the EE also. The blacks got crushed on FotR unfortunately.

Thing is, if you hadn't looked at the screengrabs, you probably wouldn't have even noticed the green tint. It's not very noticeable, especially when you have no pure white to compare it to.

Far and away the best looking Super 35 films on the format (Trick R' Treat is comparable to Fellowship).

It's tough to see if you start watching with no starting point for white. Only when you compare it directly to the TE at the same time does the slight green tint become evident. It honestly doesn't bother me as everything in Fellowship has a green feel anyway.

I'm hoping they the EE drops to $30 by next Black Friday, then I'm going to jump on it. Till then, the theatricals will hold me over.

Unless Warner shrinks the box down to a standard slipbox with three cases instead of the nicer one with magnetic flap I wouldn't count on $30. We might see $40, but I seriously doubt $30.

It already went down to $39 last December, but I too can not see it dropping down to $30.

Down to $35 from Walmart (free shipping to store) as of this morning. I doubt it stays in stock for too long.

I never thought the Ultimate Matrix Collection would drop below $30, but low and behold...

I'd be surprised of the LotR: EE doesn't drop sub $30 on Black Friday, especially if they're already selling it for $35 at Walmart.

The feature Blu-ray discs are region free, the dvd's with the extras are locked.

It has to come up every time someone asks if the PQ of the EE is better than the TE. There's no getting away from it.

(Until, perhaps, someone comes up with a new way to encode Blu-ray, or devises a new technology to replace it altogether, that doesn't require colours to be cooled down to prevent bleed. After looking at new blue-grey transfers like the recent Cleopatra in the UK, I've started to wonder if that isn't why they did what they did to Fellowship. If you compare the screen captures at http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleich...ss=1#vergleich, you can see just how "hot" the TE image is.)

Thanks!
Although I've seen the features, seems a bit strange that they are locked...
