Picked this up for $16.35 from Best Buy yesterday, came home and opened it up, and.. 2 'Part Two' discs for Return of the King.

I was going to head back to Best Buy and exchanged it, but I popped in both discs before doing so. Turns out the disc art on them is just incorrect; I got a Part One and a Part Two disc.

Did this happen to anyone else? It's not too big a deal, since I did in fact get both discs, I just found the disc art mix-up to be interesting and wondered if it's just a lone misprint.

I saw an unboxing vid on youtube earlier and the same thing happened to them, but with FOTR instead. They got a replacement from Amazon however. I wonder if they even tried playing the movie to see if it was the right one lol

You can see that at around 5:40 in this vid:

I remember reading something like that when the set first came out. I think there was a disk exchange offered. Look into that.

I mean, like I said, not a huge issue since one is a Part One disc and one is a Part Two disc. They are just misprinted, both as Part Two. But the first Part Two disc plays as the first part of Return of the King. I don't see that it's really anything to make too big a deal out of. Just thought it was interesting.

Seriously, thanks for being a good sport I got to go to two different BB today. When I got to the first one the Wally's website updated on my phone showing the out of stock. Luckily over lunch it showed up in stock and I was able to finally pick this up for $38 out the door($34.96 + tax). Looking forward to watching these and judging for myself what each movie looks like. I need to check out that unveiling video once my wife takes our son upstairs. The BD Extended Edition is a little funky in the corner and I'm hoping I can just throw that away.

I ordered me the set yesterday for 49.49. i am sure it will go down more within the next couple of months and maybe in november, but i couldnt resist and i still think 49.49 for this set is a good price

I havent seen these movies in a long time, i would say in about 5 + years or maybe even more. When i see them its going to be like watching a new movie.

Best Buy is just nuts nowadays. They used to be average on pricing, sometimes even competetive... now? Well I want that Planet Earth remastered bluray set... It's like $70 on Best Buy's website. $34.99 on Amazong. Pfft.

I watched that last night once things calmed down and about pissed my pants too. I had just picked this up at BB and had them price match the WM.com sales price. Was really worried this was going to happen to me. Luckily everything looks good so far. I opened it up while my son was napping and everything looks to be in order. Does anyone know if they did a running change or is this a case of Russian roulette when you buy the set? Like you said Chip, glad that wasn't me

You know, I can kind of see how they gave it to you. In your print out it say out of stock...online(right?). Well, unless they shop their competitors they aren't going to know the stores don't have it. Good on you. I wasn't so lucky the first go round, but got lucky at the second store.

Nice work on the Wal-Mart match. It's definitely an improvement over Frys' policy, which is three-fold...

1) They only match certain retailers (Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, Best Buy, etc.)
2) Only first-party sellers are honored (no third-party offers on Amazon)
3) The item must be listed as "in stock" online.

Additionally, my local store (about a mile away) has two separate areas for price matches. Anything under a 40% discount must be done in the appropriate section of the store, while the higher ones are processed at the Returns desk. I still get good deals sometimes, but its quite a hassle to deal with.

Yeah, that was pretty funny. The way he emphasizes the fact that the other movies have an actual disc 1 is hilarious too.

Haha yeah, good stuff in that video. I'm fine with a misprint so long as the movie is there, which it is. Wonder if that guy checked his discs or just assumed that they were both Part Two.

I got Best Buy to price match Walmart no problem, despite it saying "sold out" or whatever on the print out. The cashier was surprised at the price and the manager did a double take a the price but she showed him the printout and he said "Wow okay". Then I got out my $10 RZ coupon. $26.xx. Biggest problem was finding it in stock in my city. For some reason it seems they are letting the blu rays and dvds run down really far everywhere in the city. It almost looks like they are trying to clear out inventory.

They most certainly are. It's not wise to carry a lot of inventory in a poor economy.

Finished watching all three movies. Wow, what a marathon. Haven't watched any of the bonus features yet.

I was shot down trying to price match, the cashier looked at the print out and proceeded to call the local Walmart to ask for their in store price. Walmart responded that they do not offer the item in store. The Best Buy employee replied that they cannot offer me this price since it is not an in store price

It sounds discriminatory, but try a Best Buy with a teenage cashier. Most of them will put in the price and tell their manager that they called. That's how it worked for me.

NOTE: I am 20 years old, so I'm not shooting down the teenage working population.
