Bahhhh!!!!!

I ended up buying the UK release, but it meant I missed out on the black cases and just got the regular blue ones — which are OK, but don't look nearly so special.

When I ordered my copy from Amazon a few weeks ago when it was listed at $50, I was sent the Canadian release. And yes, it has the promos at the beginning which was almost a deal breaker for me. But when I popped them into the player, I didn't have the (dare I say it) green tint. I compared to just a couple of screen shots on this thread and it looked great. I haven't watched the whole movie(s) yet, but that was enough to make me want to keep them instead of return them. Of course, it could still be in other spots, but the few I did check were beautiful.

I just wish Amazon would say your getting a non US version instead of just sending it to you.

If it doesn't have french titles on the box and cases, it's not the "Canadian release." I don't know what it is in that situation, but the Canadian release has French all over it.

Default Ok, are these new transfers?

Ok, stupid question: Are these extended version releases coming up in Aug new transfers? Or is this just re-packaging? I bought the box set of these last year at Wal Mart and they look great.

I think they come with extra green tint

Actually they are probably just the same transfers. You just don't get the nice box that holds all three film.

Not even repackaging. They're simply the three cases from the boxed set, just sold individually.

Ok, so they're just selling the same ones from the box set seperately, I kind of thought so.

I doubt that considering the cases don't have any sort of UPC codes on them. I'd be surprised if they came in black cases even. So there should be some sort of repackaging done here, perhaps new cover art and such. I don't expect any differences with the content/transfers of the discs however.

You do realize that covers are uploaded by users and they don't guarantee that's how the final product will be right?

Definitely not a new transfer. WB already invested their money in a transfer. How often have they "revisited" a transfer on the same format?

^ This.

We are talking Warner Brothers here. There is a 90% chance that they will simply remove the cases from the boxset, change out the coverart insert to include the same thing with a barcode photoshopped on top of it, reshrinkwrap them individually, and put a price sticker on it.

Also, it only makes sense that they will be identical as I'm sure that WB already ordered more of the black 5-disc cases than were used. This way they can still get rid of those.

I'm just saying that it is more likely to be the same packaging as was already released than it is for them to go through the hassle of redesigning and re-ordering new cases just to accommodate the individual releases.

That's not what MacEachaidh said however. He said they're simply taking them out of the box set, implying no changes whatsoever, so you agreeing with him about that, and then saying they will probably make changes to the cover art insert, etc.. is completely contradictory.

^ Based on what I've read on several websites. So what are you basing your guess on?

I didn't make any definitive statements about the packaging unlike you . I've said I have doubts that it's just taken right out of the box set based on the logic and common sense that those would be lacking UPC codes on them. I also said I have doubts that it'll come in a black case since that's pretty atypical for standalone releases. So based on that I said there should be some changes to it, and thus it wouldn't be fresh out the box as you are claiming.

What other sources have you found that report that it's taken right out the box, with no changes? And how many of those aren't based on what Blu-ray.com has in their database?

The fact is, you seem to be basing your whole argument on database listings with zero official word of what the cover art or packaging will be like. Listings, that I have pointed out, that have been uploaded by someone who apparently has a track record for uploading fake/unofficial pictures. I haven't said either way whether it is the official art/packaging, I said I have doubts it is, which is quite different than outright saying "it will be so and so". Unless I see something official from Warner, or see it posted on Amazon, Walmart, etc.. I'll take it with a grain of salt.. Anyway, this is a completely silly debate which isn't really worth my time any more. We'll just have to wait till something more official comes out

In any case, from what's been listed in various places unrelated to Blu-ray.com, the discs will be identical to those grouped around each film in the complete set. I reported that in good faith. You're going on assumptions which you choose to call "common sense". Have at it, since it seems to really matter to you; I don't much care how far you can pee.

LOL! Take a look at your post, YOU were the one making the assumption. Thanks for the laughs though.
