I love the new covers. I looked at my Wal-Mart for them but they were not there.

Great. Mines have been shipped from Amazon.com today.

I love the Covers for this "new" release.
They are great IMO.

Both are the cover art of the 3 books "the Art Of"... Amazing books.
Theses posters where the first teasers posters for each movie - except for The Return Of The king : It was the Aragorn poster.
I think (but I may be wrong) that the first posters for the trilogy are theses ones below.
Got the first one in my Home Theatre.

It looks so great.... Almost "mystic"....

The first two are the teaser posters for the trilogy as a whole, which were released at the end of 2000. The teaser poster for Fellowship was the Argonath poster on the covers for these individual releases (and the Fellowship 'Art Of' book). I have the UK quad version framed in my front room - it's a stunning image. They all are.

I was in 2 B&Ns today, and each store only got 1 copy each. These didn't have the slipcover, so I guess if you want that, you might need to order online.

The joy of multiple cuts. Films will always have continuity problems because of it. My favorite one is from Gettysburg: Longstreet (Berenger) has just taken a cigar out of his pocket and it is broken. They have a shot with the broken cigar in his mouth and then cut away for about a second or two then come back to him with a brand new cigar hanging out of his mouth.

Just got my copy from Barnes and Noble's website. They do ship with slipcovers, if anybody was wondering, and they are still $20.99.

Unfortunately, they also ship in those horrible little plastic sleeves that offer no protection whatsoever, so the bottom right corner on my slip got dinged. I'd even like the option of paying for better packaging. I'd be more than willing to shell out an additional $1.50 to get a cheap bubble mailer instead, and they cost half of that.

I sure hope they ship their books in something sturdier.

Those are very nice boxes.

I picked up the individual EE blu-rays today at B&N. No slipcovers, but I don't give a damn.

The artwork for Fellowship's cover is outstanding.

Is there a difference between the box sets and the individuals?

Same for the extended.. what are the other box sets doing on amazon? And are the new individual extended releases different in any way?

Given the price difference I'm tempted to go with the individuals for the theatrical cuts, as long as they are the same as what came in the box set (or better).
If I remember correctlyThe ones on april 6th came with Digital copies, while april 16th saw a box without digital copies. The digital copies were only available for a limited time.

At this point though it seems like they're only printing the individual Theatrical films, correct?

Am I to take it that these are the "final say" of the theatrical cuts?

So has it been established whether the rerelease of FotR has the green tint or not?

They're the same discs as in the full boxed EE set, so yes, FotR has the same problematic transfer.
