If it comes with both I'm friggin' double dipping. Staying hydrated and keeping my ears clean? Can't beat that shit.
Well, fortunately WB are being pretty lenient this time. Just received an email from one of their reps who asked for my address so they can send me a pre-paid label. She said once I get it I am to send the Disc 1 of Fellowship to them and she will have a new disc sent out to me. Very happy they are helping me out here. WB's customer service seems hit or miss to me. Sometimes they are awesome, other times not so much.

Lord of the Rings Extended versions I still haven't seen.

Does Fellowship of the Rings include the Barrow Downs scene from the book?

I'd like to see the extended Return of the King also, with the 'Witch-Lord' villain on the battlefield against Gandalf.

Negative on that. I don't think that scene was ever filmed at all.

Actually you DON'T!

They botched that scene so badly that you will be thinking that you are watching an entirely different movie. It is awful (shudder)

You can always sell your box set. The going rate is pretty high right now, but it will undoubtedly go on sale soon.

I'd agree with you if it weren't for two things: The bland "faces" covers for the movies and the awkward flap design of the box. The spines of the box and the cases do look magnificent.

I like the outer box, but the individual cover art is so much better on the new releases. It's a shame that we don't have black cases for the individuals though. What do you think the chances are for a Lord of the Rings mix and match packaging program?

Has anyone spotted these at their local Wal-Mart? I want to return my unopened trilogy set in exchange store credit for these, but am unsure of whether or not they even have them in store.

I'm surprised. I never would've guessed they (or any major studio) would replace a scratched disc.

Question... I noticed a bit ago that there is listed on Walmart.com and Best Buy re-releases of what seems like the individual extended editions and theatricals.

Is anyone aware if there is to be any difference between the individual extended editions released 8/28/12 and these up a coming ones from 10/6/12? Did some searching and reading back but could not find anything so forgive me if I missed it in this topic.

The yet to be released ones you are asking about will be the same thing as is already available but with "movie cash" attached for the upcoming The Hobbit theatrical run.

You'd be surprised at what companies will do when you speak up.

Its NOT in their best interest to have you pissed off. If you abuse it then they might shut you off but usually they will replace damaged items or whatever. Its pennies to them but if it keeps you buying from them and maybe even reporting your happy story on a forum like this.... why wouldnt they?

Certainly they expect to replace damaged discs. Much rarer, but not unheard of, to reauthor and replace discs with problems.

Sorry, haven't been following this thread and I don't wanna go back through more than I already have - but to clarify, do the individual releases come with digital copy? Thanks.

I have no idea about theatrical editions being re-released. I never pay attention to anything regarding the theatrical editions anymore since they are dead to me.

Movie Cash is basically a coupon to get a discount on going to the theatre to see a specific film. Usually it's between $5 and $8 off te price of admission. This is what the scheduled upcoming extended individual releases are going to have attached to them. Nothing about the discs or packaging or anything will differ... aside from maybe a lack of slipcover on them.

Sadly, they load as SD quality when the codes are redeemed. WB really should have made these HDX.

It says instantly stream AND download on the uv sticker so I'm assuming you can download it. I know the hunger games was ultraviolet and I was able to save it to iTunes.
