^ Have you spoken with Amazon, darkw2013? In my experience, Amazon often waives the need to return a faulty item for people outside the US, where the cost of returning it would be high compared to the original purchase price. And Amazon should replace it free of charge, since the item they sent you was faulty.

I'd give them a try before you buy any new copy.

Just finished watching all 3 for the first time (properly, seen the odd few scenes here and there years ago). Never seen the Theatricals but I thought the films were pretty much perfect. Never felt like it was dragging and each scene was there for a reason.

Two Towers has to be my fave though. Love the battle at Rohan and the build up to it, just perfect. I felt that ROTK had waaaaay too much CGI in the battle scenes, even though it was still enjoyable.

I've always felt the same way especially with the Elephants and the Army of the Dead.

Received my set today from Amazon (finally!) it was shipped on the 20th Nov! Luckily I managed to get a refund for the shipping at least but that waiting period was insane when its expected delivery was 3rd Dec...

Skipping through the FotR set & I was hoping for a bit more detail but some scenes did look slightly more vibrant/detailed than the standard bluray set. However imo this still could've been remastered better if NewLine went back to the source material with a fine comb

But the problem is that i used a packaging forward service and for all means i live in US,therefore Amazon would request that i sent my box to them.My better option is to buy a individual copy of RotK and replace the case and the cover.

I'd still message them and see what they say. You shouldn't be out of pocket for a manufacturing error. Also you could try messaging Warner Bros.

Here's a copy of The Return of the King cover anyway, you need to register to the site.

Ahh, I see. Yes, I understand your dilemma. I'd still give them a try.

(Out of curiosity, why did you use a parcel-forwarder? That can't be cheaper than Amazon's own postage, can it?)

I have the US release of the EE set. If you have no luck any other way, feel free to PM me and I can send you a high-res scan of the 3rd case slick.

Hmmm, but it's hard to see how else the sequence could have been achieved.

Agreed, its to be expected when you've got about 100,000 people/orcs onscreen at the same time & some are ghosts which gallop across the castle walls whilst elephants & trolls plough through the soldiers

Suppose so. Maybe could have used models/miniatures or something. To me I feel the first 2 films don't rely so heavily on CGI, yet in the 3rd it just seems like they went a bit CGI crazy.

I know the newer one doesn't contain the digital copies, but how can I tell which one I own? I haven't opened it yet, so can you tell by some serial number or is there any way I can find out whether I have the one with the digital copies or the one without the digital copies?

Only way to know for certain would be to open it and see if the DC codes are inside. Why the big deal? Is it really going to matter in tye long run?

Ouch. Well I'm sorry my scanner wasn't up to the challenge of the foil.

Can anyone else help out?

Chip, I know you posted a link, but don't you have to buy credit on that site to be able to download artwork?

I'm curious. Are the Ultraviolet copies 1 or 2 files?

I just got the Target Exclusive Single Extended Cuts.
I really don't care about any of the Special Features for these films.

I also got each one for $7.50

I do have digital copy codes (Canada - not sure if it's country specific but I'm guessing that it is) for anyone who care$$. They're the theatrical editions only, even though it's from the extended release. I really don't see any use in digital copies for me in general. They take way too much space for crummy quality.

I finished watching Two Towers and man I do not enjoy the extended cut at all. I remembered not enjoying Two Towers as much compared to Fellowship but still loved the theatrical version in the end. The extended version drags on wayy too long.
