I like displaying my sets with statues or collectibles from the franchise. If I do end up putting any movie set on the shelf I always face it out so the front can be seen. Another idea I use is step shelving where the back row is the top, kinda like when you look at a magazine shelf. Many people on here have some wicked displays set up for their blu-ray collections. Check out some of the members home theater photos.

Depending on how long it'll be backordered and how honest one is; you could always pick it up at a B&M store and then return the copy you get from borders.com once it shows up.
No, I won't do that. I'm not sure where the honesty thing comes into play with your idea, because I would be returning an unopened item that can be sold as new. Still, I'll just wait. I could do that to Walmart, since I work part time for them as a second job, and I really don't respect the corporation much.

Isn't this the type of title certain Best Buy stores will do a Midnite open for? Just curious. I have to buy mine in a store because the packaging has to be mint.

I have only seen the first film Theatrical Cut only, so I hope the transfers get good feedback. Fingers crossed for early possible reviews.

Yeah so I went to Best Buy on Sunday to try and get one of the preorder rings... apparently Best Buy didn't ship them to all stores, and the stock that was supposed to go to many stores actually got shipped to warehouses instead. All they could tell me was "Just swing in every couple days to see if we got em in"

Oh dear oh dear...

Can you use best buy.com and do in-store pickup?

That's what I did for mine (late Sunday night, well after stores had closed); then went in early Monday and picked it up a little after the store opened
Walked around the BD section and a few other areas they sometimes place BD's and I didn't see another one anywhere in the store.

Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Ring Gwp - Blu-ray Disc
Then use the Check Stores link next to Store Pickup.

Just verified that way still works -- and I see at least in my area stores that it was unavailable at on Sunday night, it's now available --- also this way I never actually get prompted to do a pre-order for LotR. Now the system may automatically put a pre-order in for me, but I doubt it and even if it does I don't have to pick it up, or I could just pick up and return it right away.

How long before we can expect the individual releases of the movies? This one will be one shelf hog. What makes it worse, is that I don't even need or want the special features.

I suspect it will happen when LOTR is supposed to come out as well.
They also have a bit of the ol' bankruptcy going on which more than likely had a huge impact on the amount they could get in stock. They can't over order and get too much in as I am pretty sure their books are being watched over and Warner Bros. might only want to 'credit' them so much stock.

Welcome and glad it worked for ya.

I've asked a question in a few threads regarding by using that method it generates an actual pre-order and haven't gotten a response yet; but I figure worse case if it did I'll just pick it up and return it same day (since my BN.com preorder @ $41.99 hasn't been cancelled yet)

You do realize that the release to which you linked Velmeran, and you ordered threefiftyrocket, ARE ONLY THE THEATRICAL CUTS OF THE FILMS AND ARE NOT THE EXTENDED EDITIONS!

The link in the quoted message you have above clearly shows a box with 'Extended Edition' written across it... What makes you think these are the Theatricals? And I think it's just for the ring 'gift' anyway...
