If the movies are not released seperately I will wait for the Ultimate Edition 2014 or 2015!!!
9 DVDs is cheap. Why not include them on 2 Blu-Rays. Or better yet how about 6 Blu-Rays in 1080p.

Lame. Lame. Lame

I'm currently reading the books for the first time ever, as well. Loving every minute of it. Painstaking well-written. He created a culture, rich with history. Though I LOVE the films, but these books are just incredible.

PS:Wish they did a remake of them with Fincher in the directors chair. There:I said it
So you don't really like the movies but you felt compelled to troll this thread. Try getting a hobby.

Whatever. Thanks for giving a cheer about Star Wars in a LOTR thread.

Wrongo. You can have any opinion you want. But why infect a thread about movies you obviously aren't thrilled about? Why not visit threads about things you do like?

I think one issue with this site is the mods let too much discussion of movies go on in threads about the blu ray releases.

The Movies forum here is for discussing the quality of films, the Blu Ray forum should be for discussing the quality of Blu Ray releases IMO. Otherwise the two forums become a bit redundant.

Pre-ordered

I'm glad they're including the documentaries from the LE DVD set because I've never seen them. I'm more interested in the PQ/AQ than the extras however and I'm just thrilled this will be released soon (I thought we'd have to wait until after both Hobbit parts were released.)

Actually I was just giving a cheer about Clerks II (as someone on this page and a couple others back when that was posted can tell you) and at the time, someone else had already mentioned SW so I merely capitalized on a golden opportunity.

Anyway, good to see progress being made on the EE BDs, even though I still haven't seen the EEs so I'll probably stick w/ my TEs. There are a few factors that could convince me to double dip though: significantly better transfers, all the extras from the previous EE release and significant new content, the movies being on 1 disc each, and the TEs being included. If most or all of those conditions are met, I'll happily give Warner more of my money.

Now I am glad I restrained from buying the inferior theatrical cuts. I figured it would only be a matter of time before the extended cuts were released.

Especially since Thread Crapping is against forum rules... isn't it? I know everyone does it but it really is pointless... Bring on LOTR!

What is with the "limited" before extended edition?
Are they only a small run and then back to the vault?

Back to topic, I would love to just get individual movies so save on money since I already have the EEs in DVDs and would not mind to just get the movies on bluray.

Probably "limited" like the Star Wars 2006 DVD's were limited. Or possibly limited to the timeframe it takes to get PJ's Super Ultra Mega boxed set on the market. Either way, we KNOW this is not the last LotR we will see on Blu, there will be another.
