I can also confirm that the 3D was truly stunning at times .... this is yet another movie that should really be seen in 3D, It had plenty of pop outs & plenty of depth throughout the movie .... you could tell that each scene was pre-planned for 3D in mind. The trailers for San Andreas & Terminator Genisys both had some strong 3D scenes in them. Last edited by EVERRET; 05-15-2015 at 06:08 AM. |

I saw this movie at 7 pm last night and it deserves the accolades it gets. This movie is one of the most beautiful visual spectacles I have ever seen. The cinematography and action set pieces have to be seen to be believed.

Since it's a playful movie, I think it could have benefited from an excess of strong pop out gimmicks, ala Legend of Hercules. There definitely wasn't a lack of opportunity with the car bits flying everywhere. |

Star Wars Trailer 2 in 3D was unbeatable, yes. With Batman Superman, I heard it's moved to March 2016, so hopefully they have it ready soon for the 3D trailer if not already. |

Yes they do however I rarely agree with them. For instance they thought the last Planet of the Apes movie had great 3D and that Pacific Rim's 3D was terrible. Maybe they were wearing their 3D glasses upside down but I disagree - and most of their reviews are like this...

I wanted to give this movie a standing ovation after it was over, but we only had 14 people or so and it wasn't the right theater to make noise in lol.
Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the greatest action movies ever captured to film. It's a colossal achievement with great characters, clever details and world building, thunderous and nervewracking action sequences, and a wonderful score by Junkie XL. Pure bliss and I can't wait to watch this again and again!!!! Easily my favorite movie this year! The 3d conversion was also outstanding. This movie was definitely intended to be in 3d and it clearly shows. High medium to strong 3d throughout, and it adds a killer sense of reality and menace to the chase sequences. Lots of debris and sparks and sand fly out of the screen and the sandstorm is a 3d standout for me. One of the best 3d bits though like another user mentioned is a prolonged slow mo pop out at the end that really took me by surprise and made me laugh xD Can't reccomend this movie and the 3d highly enough!!!! |

Probably a good idea as it'll let the studio know the demand for home 3D is present. ![]() |

Wow! That was incredible.
If you love action, you will love this film in 2D or 3D, but 3D is definitely more preferred. I wish it was shot natively because the depth in the beginning of the film wasn't as strong as it was later. But make no mistake about it, this film was shot with 3D visuals in mind. This was my first time watching a film on IMAX' brand new 3D 4k dual laser projectors. The black levels are absolutely incredible. They come very close to plasma levels. Also, I believe the Glasses for this system are different than the linear polarized glasses with the old system. I can tilt my head and there is no crosstalk. Brightness looked about the same as the old IMAX 3D system, since both use dual projectors to keep the light level high enough to enjoy with the glasses on. Hopefully, more IMAX theaters will upgrade to the new system. |

I got to see this tonight and it was one hell of a thrill ride, with some crazy looking characters and crazy looking vehicles, I would of liked to have seen max having a longer car chase in his Ford Falcon though that seemed to end to quickly for me. I thought the 3D was pretty good with quite a few shots protruding out of the screen there was one popout that actually made me blink, I think it was when a gun came flying out of the screen, as mentioned in other posts though, the best popouts were right near the ending they could of had plenty more throughout the film but I'm guessing they didn't want it labeled as a popout "gimmicky" movie.
It was't showing in imax at my local theater as The Avengers is still showing, which I saw last week. The Trailer for Jurassic World looked very much like the 3D for Jurassic Park "pretty strong" I don't know if this was done by the same people or not but it looked good. |

An observation experience I had with the Ant Man 3D preview before the Mad Max: Fury Road 3D showing in RealD 3D.
The 'Constant-Image-Height' 3D projector they used displays the 3D previews on a full 2.40:1 screen. Ant Man 3D looked almost like 1:33.1 in comparison to the other previews. ![]() ![]() |

I didn't notice Ant Man's 2nd 3D trailer as square when I saw it before Avengers 2. I'll keep an eye out next time.
You guys got all the good 3D trailers. For Mad Max 3D, they only showed The Walk 3D (strong 3D, Zemekis knows how to make 3D well) and San Andreas 3D (high medium to strong 3D). Mad Max's 3D was great! High medium to strong 3D all the way, loved it. The theater I sat in has a smaller screen, so the 3D really pops with great contrast in that theater, compared to some of the giant theater's gray screen washing out some of the 3D effect to some degree. Fun movie that captures the style of the prior films well. I'd say this is easily my favorite Mad Max movie of them all. Only thing I would have liked to have seen would be Max in his car, kicking @ss. But that didn't happen. Otherwise, great carnage and carjacking fury. |

[Show spoiler] Really glad you liked the 3d as much as I did! The 3d trailers I got for Ant Man, Jurassic World, The Walk, and San Andreas were all wonderful, particularly Ant Man and The Walk with their jaw dropping use of 3d ( I'm still certain Ant Man is going to be this Summer's sleeper hit imo. Looks hilarious and action packed in all the right ways) |

[Show spoiler] Yes, Ant-Man's 3D was great (strong 3D) and looks like a lot of fun, never taking it's theme too seriously. Hornet (Yellowjacket) looks cool too! ![]() |
