I may be picking this up tomorrow so I should re-route my HDMI 1 output directly to my tv, send HDMI 2 (audio) to my AVR to fully enjoy DV @ 60fps?

I wouldn't change anything unless you know it's not gonna work.

My soundbar would not pass 2160p/60fps Dolby Vision. So had go to tv's
HDMI input. Now I get 2160p/60fps Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos over ARC
Soundbar has HDMI 2.0a spec. Would pass 2160p/60fps HDR10.

I posted a clip of Gemini Man from my projector yesterday playing at 4K/60FPS HDR. So today...here's a little clip playing from my Sony XBR 75" X950G TV...playing in 4K/60FPS in Dolby Vision........

Got the disc in the mail today.

First impressions after about 15 minutes aren't too hot. The movie looks like a cheap insurance commercial in some scenes. I don't understand why Ang Lee chooses to shoot and frame his HFR movies like this. Billy Lynn had the same exact issue. The camera is way too close to the actors which makes it all look extremely awkward.

Also there is definitely some compression artifacting going on at times... Not terrible but noticeable on a 65" screen. It's too late to watch the entire thing now - will post some thoughts when I've seen the movie.

There are no compression issues.

I’ve watched the disc four times now.

I’m thinking people might be having some equipment issues with this disc that they’re mistaking as artifacts.

So I see that you have the x950G with the x800M2 and you're getting 4k 60fps DV playback. I'm using the same setup but I'm only getting 1080p 60fps with DV. Just wondering how you were able to get those numbers. My blu ray player is connected directly to the TV and I have DV toggled on too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone else experience judder during playback? There may be a better word for it. I didn’t have time to watch it. I just popped it in to sample. I FF’d through some scenes. Once I stopped the FF to play, it seems like it would “skip” a little. Is this judder?

Perhaps it's a manufacturing issue. Some of the discs could have worse compression.

The cinematography looks like an episode of the Amazing Race, but the detail and clarity of the video is ****ing insane!

We all did my friends. 60fps is very suited for action/drama genre

God I hate this UHD disc. I always make sure to disable motion enhancement, and with this nonsense I have to watch the digital copy for 4k

Yes, but at least I know I'm watching real HDR at 10bits

I meant that I would never choose HFR over 24 in terms of my preferences, if I had to pick one or the other. So, thank you, for condescendingly telling me me (I'm a filmmaker too) that only the filmmaker should decide, which is a rather obvious thing to say. Now shove it.

The two things that come to mind are...make sure on the X950G...you have your inputs set to "Enhanced" in the settings. And on the X800M2...make sure you have HDR Output set to "Auto" and have Dolby Vision set to 'On" in the settings. Hopefully that will fix the problem for you!
