I've always loved Marvel more than DC, but it's a little unfair when it comes to movies because there have been more movies made from Marvel than DC.

The things I hate about both:
I can't stand the Hulk, there's nothing special about him (though my favourite colour is green!)
And Superman is just terrible and overrated.

I also don't like how for the JLA movie they're using the character John Stewart as the Green Lantern and not Hal Jordan. To me, Hal Jordan is the most recognizable Green Lantern when used in the media.

First off, JLA movie has been shelved and I doubt they will use the same actors in the future. Hal Jordan is the iconic green lantern but since Justice League the animated series came out John Stewart has been well more popular than ever, even though his military origins are basically Hal's. If they ever do a Justice Leagu film they would use John because he is black and it will make the league diverse or since they are doing a GL movie with Hal they would use him so no matter what GL will be on the big screen

Default DC is the original therefore the best

I go with DC the jsut have the better heroes basically every hero was molded from superman so all u marvel lovers stop hating the man of steel just becuase no one in that universe could ever beat him I will admit that I love the Iron Man movie it was amazingly done but marvel has some crappy movies like elektra, x-men 3, the hulk(ang lee), lightspeed, nad personally Spiderman 2 was boring to me now DC has some crappy movies to Catwoman Superman IV etc but the greatest movie ever created so far is the Dark Knight simply amazing and where does is come from DC thats right the best baby

Justice Lord Superman has spoken

the dark knight may be all kinds of awesome, but it will never make up for the crap that is steel and supergirl. none of marvel's worst movies are as bad as dc's worst movies. frankly, dc comics just have lousy characters compared to marvel.

We'll see.

Everytime they announce a project it goes into development hell and eventually gets shelved. It's because WB has first pass of any DC properties before they can be shopped around to other studios. Unwilling to allow anyone else to play with their properties, they develop the films and then drag their feet until they die.

We don't hate him for that. We hate him for being a boring boyscout with no personality.

Saying that all the DC heroes are xeroes of Superman doesn't help them much.

Proving once again that Batman is really the most 'Marvel' of the DC characters.

I dont just mean DC heroes Stan Lee himself said Marvel heroes were in some form created from Superman its in a Wizard interview and I will agree that Superman is to much of a boyscott but if he went rouge what damage would he create he could take over the world with little to no interfirence

Lightspeed also wasn't Marvel. It was a Stan Lee production.

You want to talk about craptastic TV movies...

If he went rogue?

That's not going to happen outside of elseworld's. DC would be destroying their cash cow.

And please, someone whips out some kryptonite or some magic and the boyscout is beaten.

Ahem.

To answer the OP's questions: 1) Tie. 2) Marvel.

The Dark Knight was great. Superman was great. That's about it so far. There will be much more on the DC front. They are turning the ship around. But Marvel Studios so far has made two movies. Both were outstanding. Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. They also have a great plan.

All of DC's movies are made by their parent company WB. I don't think DC has had a lot of input in their past movies. From what I've read that's going to change.

As far as the characters go. Marvel might have the edge because they can use the excuse of 'mutants' for any super being they don't have yet. There's an equal on both sides. If DC has a great hero, Marvel will have one very similar. If Marvel has a great one, DC will come up with one similar (For every Green Arrow, there's a Hawkeye). This may not be quite so with the principles as it is for the B listers. Marvel probably has more A listers known by John Q Public than DC. But DC's characters are more Iconic.

DC has the 2 most iconic superheroes of all time the light (Superman) The Dark Knight (Batman).

Plus on the whole DC makes better movies
Good DC movies: Superman and Superman 2, Batman Begins and the Dark Knight (the best super hero movie ever)

Bad DC movies: Batman and Robin, Superman III, IV

Good Marvel Spiderman 2, X Men, X2
Bad Marvel: Fantastic 4 both, and The Punisher.

Over all the winner is: DC
