Received my copy just now out of the mailbox, number 1309 of 2300. I'm watching the 1990 version right now and it looks fantastic. Is it Sony's 4K transfer minus the crappy blue tint that was on the Twilight Time disc? The grain pattern is real fine like a 4K transfers grain pattern. Plus, tons of detail to be seen!!!!

No, it's the same transfer used for the original DVD release.

It doesn't look that great as is has plenty of noise.

Looks good for an old transfer. Yes, it has issues but I expected alot worse.

I just looked at the DVD vs BR comparison on Capsaholic. Wow, I forgot how bad DVD can look. Can't wait to get this and watch it.

Got mine limited edition (126 of 2300) today.

Both movies played fine as claimed region free. However it doesn't play the special features from 1968 version None of it. All the special features work on 1990 version. Does anybody encounter this issue?
Btw I played on PS3. maybe that's why?

Because the US PS3 cannot process 25fps video.

Thank you for pointing it out. I had no idea it has to do with fps.
I had the same issue with Chungking Express I bought from UK. The movie works fine-region free but not the bonus features. I thought it has to do with the region or something. Now I felt dumb lol

Those extras are 50Hz content so you'd need a player that can convert them to 60Hz or a display that can display content at 50Hz.

From Australia to Northern California took about 8 days to get to me.

Umbrella is out of stock but they are going to send me the 1990 BD once they receive stock.
