If we are lucky, we'll get the Theatrical Trailer (1:06) and the Documentary "The Dead Walk: Remaking a Classic" Featurette (Includes Deleted Scenes) (24:53) from the DVD Edition, but i don't think we'll get the Audio Commentary by Tom Savini... Well, we never know.

First of all guys, let's have a rational discussion without name calling and bragging about how many copies you're going to buy.
Now... Quote:
1) More people are aware of Twilight Time and the way they do business. Fright Night demonstrated the way horror fans are collectors and will buy the movies they love without much hesitation. 2) The reasons I explained above are also why more scalpers will snatch up multiple copies. |

Because of this discussion I just had to find my DVD and see if I still had it, thank God I do, and it was the first issue that included the 4:3 version, so getting a disc case and plopping this in with the BD might be a real good idea. |

I totally agree. I think that people who love the movie should buy a copy for themselves and maybe one or two for gifts TOPS! This whole buying tons of copies to sell later to fans who missed the opportunity seems rather mean to the fans. Some people take awhile to hear about things and end up having to spend 100+ dollars because those copies were picked up by people who are just being greedy. This is just my opinion of course. I understand the appeal of making some easy cash but it just seems rather insensitive to those who really care about the film. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know, it just strikes a nerve with me.

When that tide turns, and the speculators run away... then the movie fans won't come back either because they'll wait for that $30 price to drop once they know the sellouts are less likely. So... Twilight Time has a delicate balance to negotiate between wanting sellouts BUT wanting those sellouts because they have 3000 fans, and not 1000 each buying 3 copies. |

![]() I mean, some of their titles are likely NOT to sell out (like rapture), so when a title like fright night or Night of the living sells out, it helps mediate some of the loses from the less popular titles. |

Speculators are NEVER good for long-term success of a business. Sure, short-term it boosts your sales... but what you need are long-term regular customers who will buy all your products. The speculator is only here while he can make a buck, and the first time he can't... he dumps and runs... then you have a whirling dervish of backlash coming at you before you can blink. Twilight Time will succeed as a business IF they can attract more movie fans willing to pay them the $30 for each movie they release as they come out... Twilight Time will fail if speculators start buying up multiple copies of new releases, thus depriving fans of getting those movies except at a premium. Think when Best Buy has a deal and limits your purchases to 1 of each... they do that because they want to draw customers who will buy other things from them... IF someone comes in and buys up all the deals, then yeah Best Buy is loving the money BUT 50 other customers went home disappointed... and those 50 might not come back. Now think Twilight Time... a bunch of people missed Fright Night... were bummed... some paid a premium to get it in the after-market... Now we have talk of people saying "I'm going to buy extras of this one so I can flip them"... so if this movie sells out and Twilight Time is turning customers away because they sold out... it's bad for their long-term prospects. IF I want a copy, and I get a copy... then if I'm happy, I'll come back for the next release... IF I want a copy, and I can't get one because the guy before me ordered 10... I file that away... IF I try for the next movie and it happens again, I'm not going back to try for another movie. Then when the speculators bail because they suddenly can't flip those $30 investments for $100... and they start selling for less than cost, because they want to wash their hands of the whole thing... we then spiral with people who paid $30+ now mad, others picking up movies cheap and expecting the next ones to also be cheap... so the next batch of releases don't sell-out and other people begin holding back waiting to see if it happens again. And most importantly... Twilight Time doesn't make any of that extra money when the speculator does... and Twilight's model is far more stable with 3000 unique customers than it is 1000 customers who buy extras... because when those customers stop buying the extras, then the gravy train is over. I'm saying this because I don't wish them ill will... I'm hoping people will realize this and not let history repeat itself. |
