I have gone from "on the fence" to "can't wait"

so - is this SHIPPING on the 9th, or shipping so that it ARRIVES on the 9th ?

More than likely, they'll ship it as soon as they receive stock, which will be about a week prior to the 9th. At least that's how it worked for Steel Magnolias. I had it the Wednesday or Thursday before the street date.

No way.

Have you seen the original? It follows that pretty closely, except they change the ending.

Oh that is great news....

So I could be just two weeks away from enjoying some HD Pat Tallman action ?

From what I've read the project came about essentially as a way for Romero to have some copyright control and profit from the film since the original due to whatever lapses landed in the public domain, and pretty much anyone could screen the film or make their own release of it without giving even the proverbial 2 cents to the original maker.

I'm sure Romero would prefer the non-proverbial 2 cents.

As others have mentioned they are completely different in tone with the only obvious link that they are both about zombies. You could make a convincing argument to say either of the two are the better film but in my opinion Return of the Living Dead slightly edges Night of the Living Dead '90. I'd say both are among the top 5 best zombie films I've seen though. Cemetary Man being my favourite.

Bah, damn you TT! I told myself I would avoid this blind buy, yet somehow I find myself with a preorder.

I hope this rocks.

It's quite different than most zombie films, but you should check out Bob Clark's Deathdream - a creepy, atmospheric film that's perfect for late-night viewings.

Sir, did you pay for standard USPS shipping, or more expensive UPS shipping?

bassaholic, I agree that they are different in tone and taste is subjective, but any zombie fan or Romero fan worth his or her salt should own this movie. I've had the DVD for years and it's a great movie to pop in this time of year.

Deathdream is terrific! It really gets under your skin.

Also, as others have mentioned, I'd say Return is definitely superior to Night 90. Return is one of the few zombie films that seems to get better every time I see it. And funnier.

"Rabid. Weasels."

Thanks for the recommendation. I just looked it up and I don't think I have seen that one so I will check it out.

No problem. My last order shipped Priority. Assuming the do the same with NotLD90 and Enemy Mine, you should receive it within 2 or 3 days.

I remember years ago when that came out on DVD, my friend got it and we watched it at his place.
