It definitely seems like something went wrong here, but at least give them a CHANCE to look into it. I i mean geez, they probably haven't even been in the office since this thing shipped. It's so moronic to keep ranting and raving about how their "service stinks" when there's literally no way they could have addressed anything properly yet. I ordered 3 copies personally, and I'm not even all that worried about it. Either they replace them, or they don't. But I know if they do need to replace them it's not going to ship out Monday LOL. It could take weeks or even months. All I know is if there is an issue, and it's not fixed then it would greatly change my opinion of their company. However I'm going to give them a chance to look into it accordingly. |

EXACTLY what I was trying to say yesterday, we all get it some people are just down right outraged and we don't need to read the same people saying it over and over and over again! Get over it if your that angry return your movie and get your money back, simple. Sony knows the popularity of this movie now seeing as it sold out in what 8 days? There's no way its not going to get a wide blu ray release now and I'm sure the transfer will be more to those who's angry tastes.

Yea, the "I'm never going to buy another TT release ever again" comments are a bit extreme. They have released quality release after quality release. They already said they will be taking them back if you are not happy with it... Even if they didnt, you'd probably be able to make back atleast what you paid for it....What's the big effin deal?
I've never seen this movie so I don't have a point of reference. I'll watch my copy and decide what I want to do after.... But even if I don't like the transfer, I still have about 8 TT releases that look absolutely great. It wouldn't change how I feel about the company. They are willing to make it right by issuing returns/refunds for those of you who are unhappy. ![]() Last edited by Yankees0222; 09-30-2012 at 08:25 PM. |

Why is it that anytime Star Wars gets some change made to it, I get to hear a million Star Wars fans up in arms about it.
THEN a movie I love... sure it aint Star Wars... just a little horror flick... gets CHANGED. Yes changed from how its always looked...and the people who are upset about it are labeled whiny! You guys who are ok with the change, thats fine..power to you...enjoy! We are all supposed to be fans of film here, though. We spend our time on a damn movie format message board for christs sake. So why would any fan of film be OK with the altering of a movie 20 years after release? Yes i get some of you like it better...but that doesnt make it right. Just as fans of film can you at least admit to that much? And fyi, speaking for me personally, this is what led to my being upset yesterday: First off ive been dying to have this on blu. Its a favorite of mine. So I was excited all day and watched the tracking on my phone to see if it would get to me. Then I start hearing the news about the BLUE factor. So I get home, pop it in and sure enough...its s***. So I went to their facebook and saw people were already asking about it. THEN heres what happened that I think set a lot of people off. The responses we were getting wasnt that it would be looked into. It was that "oh well i guess the tech team blah blah". That made it seem like this issue was going to be ignored. Now theyve announced they will look into it this week. GREAT! Thats all most of us wanted. For them to check it out. If it is an error than maybe we will get this fixed and that will be great. I remember when OPERA was first released by Anchor Bay and there was a screw up on it. They simply said Send it back and we will fix it. No big deal. If they had been more professional right away and said theyd look into it instead of blowing us off with a few mis-guided responses, then it wouldnt have been a big deal. So now im just waiting to see what the next step is and what they hear back from Sony. To be attacked though by fellow boardies because we are upset that the movie has been changed from the way it has Always looked for 20 years... that boggles my mind more than anything TT has done. So again, if you like the new blue, dark version... good. You now own Night on bluray just like you want it. For those of us who want our movie to look like its supposed to, we have the right to want that as well and to b**** about it. Welcome to the internet. Halloween was apparently nothing to do with DP Dean Cundey or director John Carpenter, but no real outcry from the horror community as far as I can tell. Detail, noticeably, was improved on the HD so it was an upgrade for most concerned (and the last DVD release had this same colour scheme, so it wasn't as big of a shock). With Night, clearly some shots have lost a lot of detail (especially the front of the car in that one screen), but for a lot of it there's a lot of detail gained. In some shots of the graveyard I am stunned by how good it looks, later in the house, despite the darkness it looks a lot more detailed. So it comes down to a trade off, should I pick the detail or the film I know and love? Whether this is a mistake at some point that can/should be rectified is up in the air. Ultimately, I think most of us are not trying to stifle your point of view, it's just the attacking of Twilight Time before they've done anything. Whether you realise it or not, your (collective) posts here are probably inspiring some of the annoying vitriol on the TT facebook page. Oh, another two sprang to mind - BASKET CASE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES PART 2. The blu-ray for BASKET had a blue tint added throughout, by director's own preference, and HILLS 2 was fullscreen with a washed out contrast ratio that stank to high heaven - lots of good reviews though, but then most of them didn't see Anchor Bay UK's DVD for said title, which had much better colours, occasionally better detail, original mono (not lossless like the BD), 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound and 5.1 DTS - a definete downgrade.
