You think I am worked up? Let me assure you I am calm. You on the other hand come across as though you are about to blow a valve.

Troma doesn't have to pay a liscencing fee to themselves release their own titles. Twilight Time has to pay fees to Sony.

Exactly. The final word on how the film should look belongs to only two people: Savini and the DP. The opinion of everyone else is gibberish at this point as is any level of blame. Till those two talk your all whining and complaining out of your backsides.

I am going to LMAO if this turns out to be the actual intended look. Much like the previously mentioned Coppola approved Dracula transfer before it. Your all stuck in DVD land it seems. Which, short of a Criterion release, I wouldn't trust a single a transfer of as factual to intent. One of the joys of mass compression is inaquracy and adjustment.

People obviously need a place to vent so let them. If I spent $35 on a shitty transfer I'd be pretty livid too. There's no reason for you to try react to every one of these posts and be all defensive of TT.

I mean, if you want to come off as an apologist than keep going. Just figured you wouldn't want to be lumped in there with the rest.

Is it remotely possible for anyone to have a discussion on this board without resorting to personal attacks?

A "shitty" transfer that they are willing to take back for a full refund (aka a "shitty" transfer you can also put up on eBay and double what you spent on it). It's not like you're stuck with the movie. If you are unhappy with the changes, get rid of it. No harm no foul. I just don't get all this anger towards the situation. Sure there's a letdown since many people were excited for this release. But to go on page after page fighting about it is pointless at this point.

If you want to keep it, keep it. If you don't, send it back or sell it. Complaining about it on a forum board isn't going to do a whole lot.

The customers are fully aware that Twilight Time's blu-ray releases are bare-bones, and they have the option to purchase them or not. If the customer don't want bare-bone blu-rays, then don't buy them. It''s common knowledge that Twilight Time has never included special features on their blu-rays, besides the isolated score.

This is my first purchase from TT. I missed out on Fright Night, which is how I discovered them. NotLD is in my mailbox right now. It's not the first time I've really wanted a film that was royally messed up, if that is the case. But... it's all good. I've got the DVD, I don't think this will be the films only release.. I hope. So, I'll return or sell mine if it is that bad... No biggie, though saddening

Here is the thing. I get their business model..but it doesnt mean we have to like the high prices for the minimal bonus features, no one here said "produce only 3000 copies only to make them limited". Some of us were bummed when they did that first 100 copies get signed by gimmick due to servers crashing and many of those copies went to scalpers and many of the real fans and collectors of the films got the shaft. Other than that, they're fine

Exactly. The only reason to get upset about a bare bones release is like when Transformers DOTM did it and even then everyone knew the double dip was coming with the 3D Special Editon.

Personally, I've never cared for special features, I rarely watch them, so a barebones edition doesn't bother me. I'd rather more of the disc space be used up on the video and audio.

Well, it's not just the DVD that had a different look. It's the DVD, laserdisc, VHS, HD streaming version, trailer from the Blu-ray, and bootleg workprint. They're all pretty consistent with the brightness and color scheme. The Blu-ray is the odd man out with a radically different and likely "inaquarate" look.

I'm sure someone at some point intended it to look this way. But who, and when?

Most people buy this because they want to own it, watch it and enjoy it. Just because you can return it or even profit from it does not in any way take away from that fact. A lot of people wish they could be stuck with this release and be proud to have it in their collection, but because of this shitty transfer they can't be. Eventually the rage will die down (perhaps with some mod assistance) but you really can't expect to not see it in full force as people continue to receive their copies in the mail, or finally get around to seeing it.

And of course there's redundancy. It happens regardless of the topic. Go to any thread here and you'll see people repeating the same stuff over and over again. Why would this be any different.

Thankx buddy. - I do understand peoples frustrations. I understand some are more upset that I, but in my case, there are another 5000 titles I want.

Expressing disdain for something is one thing.... But when it starts getting personal, you've taken it too far. And that's the point we have gotten to in this thread. Say your peace and be done with it. If you want to Bi*ch to someone, contact Sony directly. They are the only ones who can actually do anything about it at this point

It just seems like there are two camps. You either hate the way this release was handled or you're a TT plant and apologist. Can't people like it or dislike it at their own discretion?

Thank you! I don't know why they're continuing on arguing back and forth because, it's NOT going to resolve the matter. Twilight Time has already made an announcement to return the blu-rays for a full refund, or keep it ( if they choose.) and move on. It's not the end of the world.....Yet! Some people just goes to the extremes! It's only a blu-ray movie. This isn't the first blu-ray release that was defected! There are more important issues that need to be addressed, and to be concerned about in the world than the NOTLD blu-ray.
