Yeah, I noticed that as well. That's pretty ridiculous. lol I never put a Blu-ray on my owned list until I actually get it. I have seperate owned folders for different types of Blu-rays: Criterions, Digibooks, Steelbooks, Imports, etc. I even have a seperate folder for stuff that I have ordered.

A few minutes in I looked down to grab a handful of popcorn, and when I looked back up.... everything was blue. Dark. Tinted. Puzzled, I grabbed for my remote, thinking that somehow my PlayStation 3 had dimmed the screen because of inactivity. Anyone who has a PS3 knows full well what I'm talking about.

No it actually is kind of funny. Thought never crossed my mind but yeah it kind of does look like that. I remember when I first saw it, I thought it looked a little dark but ehh it would make sense to start getting darker because most of it takes place at night after all. Then I came here and well......here we are. Still I don't have the seething anger some people have displayed. So they botched a good release? Ehh at least it wasn't the original and they offered full refunds. I sold mine and made WAY more than I spent so considering they actually made me money I can't really get them crap unless they pull something like this again. And considering the enormous outcry I am confident that they won't do anything like this again without informing the customers. They certainly aren't going to put themselves through this again.

Although the one thing that puts a big smile on my face is imagining ED angrily getting barraged with angry emails and having to deal with the returns. I imagine they were rethinking this whole team up with Twilight Time for at least that moment.

I think this blu-ray and its issues have been discussed to death here...and yet every time the thread gets bumped, I feel oddly compelled to check out the new posts

If Fright Night didn't go all crazy on ebay this would have taken a couple weeks to sell out. Plus when some ebayers got 8 copies!!!! Where's the real demand. The DVD never sold like hot cakes. Hell Walmart has it for $4. And for $5 you can upgrade to the HDX vudu version.

I'll get the vudu HDX version too, just to have the original color tint and make my own judgement.

I believe it's because Sony released the movie several times in the dvd format so everyone that got it the first time saw no need to buy it again unless theirs got scratched.

If I can remember right in 1999 it was released as a widescreen/fullscreen dvd for a few years, a 2nd time with fullscreen only with no new features then after that a few more times together with other movies.

Well I guess it's all up to the DP and maybe Carpenter right? If I remember Christine correctly, it's a film that seemed to have a lot of color filtering going on (some scenes with a real red look, or a blue look). We could get the opposite problem of NOTLD '90 where maybe the DP and Carpenter could decide to make it look more natural, and do away with any tinted look.

Never understood why "fake" profiles were always allowed in the DB. I can understand if a title was previously announced and then the studio scrapped those plans at a latter date. It's even worse when fake cover art is created to give the listing a more credible appearance. I've even seen some collections include titles that have been rented in their overall "Owned" collection count numbers.

I think it's pretty sad for someone to do that. What do they get out it?

I know. Its like rubber-necking an RTA. Something you know no good will come of but you just can't help yourself.

Still, the internet furore has been more entertaining than the film

Maybe they are homemade Blu-Ray discs from HD streams (HD broadcast, VUDU, etc.) There is plenty of stuff out there that hasn't been officially released yet can be found in the right places. NOTL90 with proper color for example.

I am a little shocked at how many were complaining about this release and threatening to return it, sell it, trade it, and i think i have seen maybe 3 who have done so.

Canada Happy with my copy 100%

I saw the movie last night and I just want to express what is the Movie for ME:

I had not seen before "NOTLD (1990)" and it was Impressive, the script, the degeneration of the characters, the exchange of ideas between the characters, the subject itself is quite intense, the combination of actors is very well achieved, for Me is an Amazing Film. My summary in my POINT OF VIEW is that the Director (Tom Savini) could understand from beginning to end how to recreate the Script In the best way.

I know that here in the forum I have read many complaints of audio, Mostly the so-called blue Color, transfer and much more that have made many collectors upset(I respect every Point Of View) but in my case (which I had not seen This Title before on VHS, or CINEMA, or DVD ) I must say I quite enjoy it and I feel it is a privilege for Me to have This 1/3000 Title in my Blu-Ray collection.

REGARDS
