If you wait too long, you'll be adding a zero to that number if you want it.

Definitely going to have to pick this up. I didn't like the remake when I saw it originally, but I ended up enjoying it when I watched it back a few years later.

Can't wait for this. Loved this movie since i was 7. It Was one of the first horror films i saw that turned me onto the genre. Ive also always felt that it is one of the few zombie movies that is actually scary. I never thought this would end up being released anytime soon, and definitely not before an official release of the 68' film (what are they waiting for?!). However, I think a $30 price tag is a bit steep for a bare bones blu-ray. The DVD looks noticeably better up-converted, so for the price I expect to have pristine picture and sound ( I want that anyway....real bad). I have to say that savini's commentary for this movie always impressed me, he really gives a lot of info.

Sony should have released a Tom Savini director's cut with all of the gore footage restored into the movie in HD instead of the over-priced barebones theatrical version from Twilight Time.
Unfortunately, Tom Savini himself said he preferred the theatrical version (which surprised me, considering his gore fx are legendary). I would love to see the X rated cut at some point. If we're lucky, we'll get an uncut blu-ray.

Honestly, I'll pay for the Twilight Time blu-ray. I buy blu-rays for Video/Audio upgrade, not for tons of extras. The release of Fright Night was amazing, I've never seen the movie look that good and it came with a booklet, a fridge magnet (?) and an isolated music score. That's not too bad, in my humble opinion. Yes it could have been loaded with extras but I'm more than happy owning a copy of it. Night of the Living Dead '90 really needs an upgraded picture, the DVD is alright but I think the film will really benefit from higher resolution. Also, I really like how Twilight Time uses original cover art, as the DVD has a pretty cool but totally different cover from the original poster.

I actually own a copy of the workprint edition (the fully uncut version of the film) on DVD. The picture is obviously crude, it looks like it was taken from a worn VHS from the 80's, but the gore shots and the alternate soundtrack/extended opening improve the film IMO. I would love to see a remastered version of this on blu-ray.

Well they kinda do. 'fright night' and 'as good as it gets' were very similar to the regular cover art. Then you take 'steel magnolias' and that one looks like crap. I kinda hope they go with the poster art.

And I couldn't agree more about 'fright night'. Would I have like extras? I'd be lying if I said no. But that movie is honestly my very favorite movie. I was quoting it when I was 5 years old, and I've never grown tired of it. And it has never looked as good as it does on the tt blu.

I have a feeling that there will be newly created art for this.

It's not like this is some kind of masterpiece:

Even the dvd artwork is crappy. But honestly, I haven't been a fan of TT's original cover art, either.

Sometimes TT's covers echo the original artwork, but lately they tend to be more 'interpretive' DetroitSportsFan. Whatever works for the movie is fine by me; it's what's on the disc that counts anyway, and in that regard, this label typically sizzles*.

For those unfamiliar with Twilight Time packaging though, keep in mind that they always reproduce the original 1-sheet poster on the last page of the 8-page insert booklet. I just flip my booklet over so that the original artwork is displayed next to the disc. Best of both worlds.

* Since NOTLD is a Sony title, that means it'll be the best you'll ever see it on Blu-ray. Nothing gets past Grover Crisp (Mr. Lawrence of Arabia) without his okay...even for licensees like Twilight Time.

I actually love that original artwork and I do hope it's on the blu-ray, though I might be in the minority there.

I guess I was generalizing with TT's cover art. At least they didn't mess up Fright Night.

I'm a fan of good gore and would love to own the original uncut version on blu-ray. I wonder if that workprint version is in decent condition somewhere to be remastered.

Cover art isnt that important to me, but I will acknowledge some of the better ones and ones that were really awful
It's the disc that matters to me the most and what's on the disc. A lot of us have been pleading with TT for them to get the NOTLD commentary track with Tom Savini. Ill take a bonus feature over cover art anytime

Which is why I think TT might try something different.

If you're on the fence you might as well just pick it up. This title will probably sell out fairly quickly and then it'll be going for ~$100 a copy on the secondary market..... The $30+ will seem like a bargain then

I was on the fence with fright night and never picked it up. I still regret not getting it! Lol

I'd give you the opposite advice - don't buy it if your not 100% - leave that copy for someone who's a real fan of the film.

If someone is a "real" fan, they'll have bought it before its sold out. I say get it before the scalpers jump in and take them all.
I'm not really sure what a "real" fan is anyway....

There's more than enough copies for the die hard fan and casual fans alike
