I like the sound of that. I see you around here a lot. You seem educated about the latest around here so I will give you that. There is lots of other members who blow my mind here with some of the brain dead comments they make haha bluray.com

I did the same thing, actually. The day pre-sales went up, I bought one copy, along with a copy of Bye Bye Birdie, and then a couple days later, I ordered a second copy. The second order has just shipped, although the first one (with Bye Bye Birdie) is still pending. Maybe I'll hear on that one by the end of the day...

Someone asked TT that question on facebook and here is their response.

Twilight Time, have you considered numbering each release so that each copy would have an individual number printed on the front or back? I think this would be a nice touch, and add even more to the collectiblity of your releases.

Twilight Time DVD Label
A very expensive procedure, David. Essentially, it means printing each cover individually! Even artists printing limited editions don't do this--those are hand-written!

they could just put some type of tamper proof sticker before they seal them with the cellophane factory seal, to number them or something like that. It could be done for pennies per copy

I was just wondering, I pre ordered my 2 copies minutes after the pre order went up and everything was fine, I see now that its sold out and lots of people here are reporting there's are shipped, well I just checked on the website and my orders are there but both status's are pending. I've never ordered anything from TT before I do live in Canada, should I be worried that my status's say pending?

I'm sure it would still be more costly but I'd assume it would be less expensive than printing each one individually (e.g. 3,000 different covers with each one having a unique number) if they printed all 3,000 copies at once and left a blank white box on the back of the cover. Then they could run all 3,000 covers back through a machine which would mechanically increment a number stamp and stamp each cover with the unique number. I have to imagine that the technology/machine to do this already exists. I thought Anchor Bay used to do this for their limited edition DVD releases back in the day.

Weird, my first order that I ordered immediately the first day hasn't shipped, but my recent order I ordered a few days after already shipped. Who knows

No you shouldn't be concerned. SAE ships orders in some random order not necessarily in relation to FIFO or LIFO.

People are obsessed with ridiculous swag.

If it's not magnets, it's slipcovers or digibooks. 75% of the Universal Monsters thread is about packaging and cover art.

I think Twilight Time and film fans are too interested in the actual MOVIES to be concerned about goofy collector crap.

Ok cause I've been badly wanting this to be on blu ray for so long and I would be super disappointed if for some reason I get screwed on this, they charge your credit card at the time of pre order and not the time of shipping right?

I think they hold the amount til it ships, then they take it out officially once it ships.

Yes, if you paid by CC then they'll charge you at the time of shipment. For PayPal orders, and of course Money Orders, they take the money right away.

your right about that. TT fans are here strictly for the movies, not the fancy extras. We are talking about a small number on the cover somewhere to indicate it is a limited edition and its "number"/ of 3000 on it somewhere. Not really swag, but just some type of reassurance that it is truly limited would add to its coolness IMO
