my DVD still makes daytime look like real sunlight; this presentation gives a false impression of early evening, and poorly at that...

edit again: the DVD was severely lacking in quality & detail, but this BD is just about the bluest movie i've ever seen...

I'm going to guess with the number of people who purchased atleast 2 copies of this release, with more than a handful purchasing much more than that, that there couldn't have been more that 1,500-2,000 people who purchased directly from SAE.

One can say its their fault for not knowing about this, but its a small release. If its not for Blu-ray.com, I doubt most of us would know about this. How much more the general public who just wanna buy movies and dont research them months ahead.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. Were you familiar with this movie before this release? I'm asking because the difference is actually quite shocking...in a bad way. It may have been day for night during some night time scenes, but the first 20 minutes do not take place at night. There is a sequence of images showing the transition from day to night. It happens after Ben tells Barbara, "fighting will keep your thinking straight." It cuts to the sun going down behind a graveyard to the moon rising. This transfer appears to turn into " fake" evening from the moment Barbara gets in the car to escape. Sunlight is gone. It does let up a little every now and then inside the farmhouse, but there is still a sickly blue tint to it. The blacks are great, detail is good, the sound is great, but I don't recognize this image. Maybe this is how it was all ways supposed to look? I guess I don't know. Speaking for myself, as a huge fan, I'm very disappointed. I don't think anyone needs to worry about finding a copy. I'm all ready thinking of unloading mine, and not for profit.

Found this on the TT facebook page. Guess I can see what others are talking about.

Was there a problem with some of the Night 90 blu-rays? The transfer is way to dark. The daylight scenes look almost dark.

Twilight Time DVD Label
Nope, no problem.

Im not bashing your releases. I honestly love all the ones I own. But you are probably gonna have alot of complaints over the darkness level.

Twilight Time DVD Label
Well, the Blu-ray is an accurate representation of the transfer...obviously things like bright/dark levels are utterly subjective. The transfer was undoubtedly approved by the filmmakers.

Who would of thought that the fasting selling Twilight Time release of 8 days sold out after pre-order would have the worst transfer.

Starting to think TT is no Criterion. They are dumping ground for subpar titles the studios are ashamed to release themselves.

I know! I thought this movie sold out fast because of certain scalpers wanting to make Fright Night money off of it. Although I'm very disappointed with the transfer, I hope it comes back to bite some folks in the ass

STARTING to think??? it's been obvious from day one that they are a dumping ground for sh!t that either wont' sell or titles they don't want. they just have jacked up prices compared to EB and Mill Creek.
