How could anyone know what it looks like without a copy? Plus if a movie has enough fans/scalpers it'll sell out anyways.

Also maybe the screencap system these people are using is shite?

Sometimes pics aren't a true representation, but if more people confirm it, I may send my ONE copy back to TT instead of opening it. I wouldn't have the heart to sell it to an uneducated fan on ebay for three times the price, unlike a couple of people here.

That's what I'm saying, maybe the general public shouldn't just be blind buying these, but rather waiting till reviews of screenshots come out. Obviously someone is going to review it just like pretty much every TT released out there. If it weren't for the fear of scalpers buying up all copies then I have to imagine that more people would wait. I know I'm personally going to try and stay away from buying a TT title in the future until I see what the transfer looks like. I do this already with most movies I buy unless they're super cheap so it makes that much more sense to do it when one costs a premium.

And this isn't just one source saying it's dark, there's a bunch of people saying the same thing. That's more than enough to believe it's not some isolated incident.

I think it looks pretty good to be honest. I don't have the DVD anymore to compare, but it doesn't look as dark on my TV as those pics. It seems a little dark, but I don't know...it kind of adds to the atmosphere of the movie. Like its that final hour or so before dark when Barbara gets to the house.

Twilight Time have just stated on FB that:

"Perhaps the Sony tech team preferred a night/dusk colour scheme"

It is a lot darker than the (UK) DVD, but I think it still looks good. I'm happy with my copy.

For the entire run of the film? I don't think so... Maybe the transfer just sucks.

I still blame this on TT. The Vudu and HDTV transfer are NOTHING like this abortion. something went wrong somewhere in the encoding house.

All I can say is wow..I have watched, and while it is darker, to me it really looks acceptable. Its not as bad as the screen shots. The DVD where it shows a blue sky was actually a foggy cloudy day, and it looks more as if it were foggy..to me it still has a good HD texture, but after doing a few chapter stops here and there to see some scenes, I honestly dont think it is really that awful. I think anyone who is waiting for their order to just watch it and see what you think. I can see the actors, I can see that it is darker, but it is *night*. Please keep in mind that this is my own opinion, and I know Im in the minority ( alone probably lol) and I prefer to not argue or have a heated debate over it. I am just stating what I see with my own eyes and I can deal with this darker texture. I dont think it is really all that bad other than it is a huge difference the DVD.
Im also not saying this because Im a "mark" for TT like Bruce on Facebook and a few others here that remind me of him that just love everything they do. I dont love everything they do, I give credit when its due and will also gripe if there is something to gripe about

I'm probably going to return my order based on these screencaps, if they're legit.

Ed's going to shit his pants....I ordered, umm, extra copies.

Yeah I'm having a hard time believing it too. I really hope it's not that bad. I have to wait until my copy arrives before I can check it out for myself.

Congrats mate, you bought multiple copies of a film that has a terrible transfer, and no one will pay over $15 for it anymore. Karma!

No, I understood your post. I'm just disagreeing with your negative view. The adjectives you chose to describe the titles are essentially the same as mine except with a negative, abusive point of view. Films like the Big Heat, Bye Bye Birdie, and As Good As It Gets are not sh!t or subpar. You might not like them, but they do people who enjoy them and are happy to pay $30.00 to have them in high defininition. Picnic, The Sound and the Fury, and Rapture are outstanding films as well.

It's cool that you're angry that the transfer for NOTD '90 sucks, but that doesn't retroactively make all of their previous titles the bottom of the barrel. Sheesh.
