Deadly Spawn is the most recent one. Not one but two crap transfers.

Here's 2 screenshots from the HDX (1080P) VUDU preview. Feel free to post a matching shot from the BD for comparison:

If I remember correctly on the commentary Tom Savini said that they had wanted a more stormy look originally but the weather was too bright and sunny. But if he really wanted to correct that, he would only have done it during the daylight scenes and not during the night scenes. And from what people are saying about the quality of the Sony Movie Channel and Vudu presentation and I doubt Sony would do two HD restorations, the most logical conclusion is that someone F'd up.

Anyone contact Twilight Time about this? I wonder if this would be a recall situation or if they knowingly and intentionally released this crap.

Thanks. I wonder if the one on Vudu is exactly the same as the BD then

everyone can see a 2 minute preview here btw (quality depending on your connection): http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...he-Living-Dead

Ok all 3,000 copies need to be sent back now so they can fix the transfer..Lets hope this is some kind of error if the transfer is that bad. I havent checked it out yet but from what i see in this thread its not looking good.

Yep, for those screen caps I'd say the blu ray looks better. The opening scene is very vivid. It's later on that the problem starts.

It was brought to their attention on Facebook, but they're pretending like it isn't an issue.

Wrote to Twilight Time. Ed said he'd forward my disappointment to the producers and would accept a return if I wished. Can't imagine any fan wanting this, so I probably will.

Well then good luck to them trying to peddle their limited crap when this word goes out wide and as soon as mine gets here it's going back. I'll stick with my DVD. I'm not paying $34 for this s**t.

Got my copy today and to me the transfer looks fantastic. I have a Panny plasma set on cinema mode and the blu ray looks nothing like some of these screencaps being posted here.

Very interesting that we're hearing such varied reports. I feel like this is going to turn into a calibration war eventually

"mine looks great!"

"mine looks horrid and dark"

"oh yeah well get your calibrations fixed n00b!"

and so forth

Have anyone ever considered, the colorization differences on the blu-ray is the correct image, not the DVD? There's a strong possibility, the blu-ray is the way it was originally intended to look by the director.

thats what im thinking cause ive been wondering, after properly calibrating your display, why would it be necessary to adjust the brightness on one film and not any others?

I'd love to reserve judgment until I've actually seen the transfer, but at the same time I don't want to open it since returns have to be new and unopened. Those screencaps are just too damning to ignore.

If I do return it, then they'd better be paying the return shipping, as well as refunding my original shipping costs.
